  1. Those who have done this, which shaft did you go to? I've been considering this because I like the shaft in my 4w better which is an Aldila nv. Thank You.
  2. Well, I see you play a better game than me, but I am a fairly decent ball striker with my irons. From the view from the back, I envision the ball flight as a cut shot. It looks to me that on the way down to the ball you did a little out to in swing and you hips looked to come through a bit too early. Also, the ball looked a bit too close to the body. Try standing a little bit further from the ball and getting that club to follow the same path as the backswing and I think you would be in great shape.
  3. When I'm playing to bring in the lowest score, I like to work on playing the strengths in my game. Right now, my strengths would be my irons and wedges, the putting and 4w are mediocre, and the driver is my main fault. I've recently been able to leave my driver in the bag in places where I know it is not necessary, setting my pride aside, and I was able to achieve my best score of 79 on a par 72. The only time I bring out the driver is on holes where the fairway is open to the right and accuracy is not a huge deal, then I try and take advantage of the extra yardage. Otherwise I will accept a playable drive of ~235 in the fairway from the 4w. Also, having some recovery shots in the bag is a crucial thing. My favorite is the punch-draw for when you end up in the trees. It is an easy shot to execute and very controllable.
  4. Has anybody bought used clubs from Golfsmith? I was considering buying a set of Titleist 695 cbs, but they don't offer pictures of the actual clubs they have, only stock photos. And then if you don't like what shows up at your door you only get a 90% refund. Seems like a gamble to me...
  5. I also use a 56-14 SW and I use a 52-8 gap wedge. 8* bounce works well for me on the gap wedge, I usually play it from about 100 yds out on moderate soil. If you go to a 56-11, you may find your club digging a little deeper on wet or loose conditions.
  6. I like the cheap $7 Nike gloves, they seem to last as long as the more expensive gloves. I tend to get a couple of months out of a glove and I play roughly 27 holes a week. I also store my glove in the sleeve it came in. That seems to keep the glove from getting all dried out, brittle and crusty.
  7. I carry a 4 wood and I like it, but I'm a traditionalist when it comes to club selections. I'm not a big fan of the hybrids and this club goes about 15 yards further than my 3i which works well for me. I would recommend that you get your distance gaps consistent or at least just know the clubs you do carry so you can hit your desired yardages.
