  2. Hey, Thanks Pyrhana! I'll check him out. I'd like to get a few lessons in before spring... Start the season with some good habits instead of the usual bad!
  3. "...and 2 beers every round" Well, that takes care of the first hole. I'm from the Pittsburgh Area, REAALLY missing the green grass right now! Anybody else from da burg? Also, I'm looking for a good indoor course in this area - AND GOOD INSTRUCTORS.
  4. Take my advice with a grain of salt- if I could get off the tee straight I'd be a scratch golfer!!! LOL! But I have been analyzing alot of my own video lately, and this is what I see that I also do wrong: Not sure I agree that it's all arms -looks like you have has pretty good timing to me. I agree that more hip turn should probably initiate the downswing. Balance will definitely help. You fall backward on your first swing which means your hanging back (like throwing a ball off your back foot). Can't tell for sure but it almost looks like a slight move at the top (raising your club) that causes a slight outside -in path (my problem too - when I figure out how to fix it I'll let you know). If you pause it right after impact (down the line) it looks like your cutting across the ball pretty hard. I've heard the Sergio Garcia backswing (steeper backswing with a drop at the top) can help counter this, but I wouldn't start with that. Keep on swinging, you'll have alot of us beat soon!!!
  5. Like most, it depends on the lie. I am most comfortable & accurate with my 60* and can flop the ball within a few feet from most spots around the green. If I'm just off the fringe, sometimes I'll use my pw - 7i & try to roll it in. that said, I really believe that a short club is the most important factor around the green - you want to get up over the ball & control the shot for accuracy - I have tried my hybrid, 3w, even driver for bump & run shots, but I usually just spray the green - or roll off the back...
  6. http://www.bbgpsgolf.com/index.php Anyone get this BB GPS GOLF app to work? It's a bit of a PITA to load the files onto your phone, but I've gone through all that, one problem: I have verizon wireless, and it won't allow me to use internal GPS, so I'll have to buy a external GPS & sync to it via bluetooth... Looks like a cool ap & you can add courses & mark hazards, etc using google earth. External GPS is pretty cheap compared to buying a skycaddie though...
  7. Been there done that- on the flip side of your situation... My GF was a year younger & I went off to college. She was sure that I was the one, and I just couldn't wait to go to college & party!!! I wasn't sure what to expect, so we tried to make it work, and TRUST ME HERE - it never works. Long story short, It's time for you to move on & let her do her thing. With your age difference, things are about to get really weird anyhow. She's going to party & expirament with other guys weather you're dating or not, so do both of yourselves a favor & take it back a notch. You can always visit when she's home, but if you end up the jealous boyfriend from back home all of her friends will make her resent you. If she isn't ready to break it off, then keep it casual & visit her but understand that when the cat's away... I know it's probably painfull thinking about it that way, but you need to look around a bit to make sure she's all you really think she is!!! TrUSt ME doOd, when yer married game over, so enjoy life now!!! Tough love brother!
  8. Nice!!! I'll get there someday! It'd eat me alive right now...
  9. I agree with the "regular" crowd here... The draw club is a crutch IMHO. I am battling the chronic slice, but resisted the urge to buy a draw club also. My issue is ALL mental, as I can draw my irons at will, but still hit slices with the big twig. I think you'd be better off in the long run if you invest the extra $50 in lessons & learn how to swing that thing correctly. Video may reveal your problem & help you fix it for life.
  10. GO STILLERS!!! Welcome - Newbie here too... Sounds like I live pretty close to you. I'm about 20 min east of Oakmont - Ever play Oakmont??? Good to hear there are some locals on the board - we should set up an outing some time!
