  1. Check the USGA website. I always buy a copy every year and keep it in my bag. I have been doing that since I was 14 and playing high school golf. If you read the rules and understand them it is amazing the things you will see people do on the course that aren't right. Good luck; I would be interested in how the try outs go. Keep us posted.
  2. I thought I remember hearing or reading about Jack quickly correcting someoe if they didn't include the US Amateur titles when counting up his major wins.
  3. Relax, don't worry about what the other guys are doing until you get into the club house. Don't think that you will live or die by every shot, that is way more pressure than you want to deal with. Try to avoid penalty strokes, play conservative golf. If you hit a bad shot, let it go. Everyone else will screw up at some point during the four days. Know all the local rules as well as the USGA rules before you go out and don't be affraid to call someone out if you see them breaking them. Golf is an honorable sport; if you see someone breaking the rules and say nothing, you might as well be cheat as well. Remember the object is to make the team not win a trophy.
  4. I think him wearing a bra n the top of his head would look funny, it would also keep that ridiculous hair from flapping around like a wounded ducks wing.
  5. I thought the US Amature was considred a major, just never got the recognition because it was a pro event.
  6. Don't forget the Master win in 1986, I think he was 47.
  7. I am glad there is someone else that feels the same way as I do. I have gone a step further than just not rooting for him; I actually root against him. I don't think anything eever came out him raking up the green. If the USGA penalized por wittle Tiger hims might get made and not play in the US open next year to teach them a lesson. I am sure they were worried about the loss of revenue it El Tigre didn't show up.
  8. Some people just should not reproduce.
  9. Marc O'hair! You are the next contest on the Dysfunctional Family Feud! That guy is Koo Koo for Coco Puffs. I have read several articles and watched the 60 Minutes piece. I have tried to be objective and look at the situation from both sides and have come up with the conclusion: Marc O'Hair is a grade "A" Jacka#$! It is obvious that he never wanted Sean to do well as a son. He wanted Sean to do well as an investment. The thought that the guy had his son sign a contract for 10% of his earings until he dies is ridiculous. I would like to think that if it was me I would spend at least that on my parents if I was in Sean's shoes. Maybe not by giving him a check every week but by buying him a car, vacations, paying off their house, taking care of little sister's college tuition. I am surprised that Marc didn't purchase a sizeable life disability insurance policy on Sean, like race horse owners do with horses. I can't imagine my Dad wanting me to sign a contract saying I would give him 10% of my earnings because he picked up the tab on my college tuition. And I have sent my parents on vacation and I even bopught my Dad a little MG roadster last year. It has not come close to the 10% that Mr. O'Hair was asking for but it is something. I got him thise gifts because I wanted to. My Dad put up with a lot of my crap and was quick to put back in line and for that he deserves a couple of vacations and a car. His payment for my success is being proud and bragging to his buddies that I bought him that car. If Sean was smart he would have said "I'll repay what you have put into this plus "x" amount of interest and that is it." It seems that Sean didn't drag his father through the mud in the media. He was asked questions and asnwered them, honestly. The truth came out. What more proof do you need than the last press release Marc put out? You know, the one where he told the media they could kiss his ass. The one where he tried to look like the good guy by saying he will let Sean out of his contract. He is pissed because the media and everyone else with a thimbal of sense has seen Marc O'Hair for what he is; a money hungry pimp (after all, he did bitch slap Sean on the golf course for doing poorly, "Ho, where my birdie at?") and a piss poor excuse for a father. I would love to spit some Red Man on that guy and give him five across the eye.
  10. Eveyonw knows the best golf movie ever made was Happy Gilmore! DUH. Just kidding. Has anyone seen Dead Solid Perfect w/ Randy Quaid. It was an 80's flick. I remembering likng it at the time but back then anything up to small shiny objects could entertain me. I have heard that Casa Blanca is a good golf movie but have never seen it. I perosnally enjoyed Tin Cup just because there was some many one liners to take on the course (I knutted it that one Romes).
  11. The Natalie Gublis Reality Show? I can handle looking at her more than I can handle looking and listen to Danielle.
  12. Mon, May 16 4:00 am Danielle's Big Break! A Week on Tour Tue, May 17 1:30 pm The Big Break II Winner Takes All Thu, May 26 7:30 pm The Big Break III: Ladies Only Ultimate Match-Up Can't wait to see what June brings.
  13. Rode hard and put up wet.
  14. For the love of God when is the Golf Channel going to stop showing repeats of the Big Break 3? We get it, Danielle won, it's over and (probably) so is her short lives LPGA career. Give it a rest all ready. It's like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy or West Wing on Bravo or Law and Order (any version) on TNT. Everytime you turn around it on. I bet between Big Break 3, all versions of Law and Order, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and The West Wing, that you could constan;y watvh those shows for 24 hrs a day, 18hrs at least. Can't the Golf Channel run some highlight reeels from the 1979 Masters or US Open? They seem pretty fond of Tiger, show some of his highlights. Anything but the Big Break 3 for the 2,554,651,685,532,549,986,498,521,359,721,138,543,521,545,846,913 time. Please I beg you, I would rather watch Tom Nettles interview anyone than sit through another episode of the Big Break 3.
  15. There is really not much to say except a bunch of you ney sayers have egg all over your face! Anyone think she will do better tomorrow? It is supposed to be rainy. She should be used to it. I wonder how her bunker play will be?
  16. Where is everyone getting this information? Who is she grouped with?
  17. What station is it on?
  18. I kind of laughed a little when Pam was just standing there watching Danielle get all that loot. You know her hatred for Danielle had to rise pretty quick. It did seem kind of messed up though. On the other two Big Breaks another contestant got a conselation prize; on the first the conselation prize was one expemption for a Canadian Tour Event and the second was the invite to BB4. If I was Pam I would feel cheated.
  19. Something is unstable about him. I have 2 kids and spent the weekend cleaning up puke instead of playing golf. I love my kids and wife, but if I was that guy I would run far away. It would be even funnier if she got divorced from her current husband, refused to marry this guy and sued him for child support.
  20. Is anyone rooting for Danielle this weekend?
  21. Dude, Annika? Gross. That was the most ridiculous piece of news (I use the term loosely) ever. Robinson was in an emotional state because he and his girlfriend broke up. The boss (Gallagher-Smith), is away from home, feeling lonely, and starts to flirt with the help. Being the red blooded 26 yr old man that he is,there was no way he was going to pass up the oppurtunity to make a couple deposits at the First National Bank of Gallagher-Smith. Plus why not, she is a professional athlete, she's married, she'll never tell anyone, it would be the end of her LPGA career. But wait; "You're pregnant?!" Robinson asks. "Yes, Gary I am," Gallagher-Smith replies. Walking over to her heplaces his hand on her shoulder, looks deeply into her eyes and says "I am the father. I can feel it, I know it in my bones that it was I who, fertilized your loin. Jackie, I love you. You should be with me, start your family." "Oh, Gary, I love my husband, my heart belongs to him, by the way, keep this under your hat okay, if word gets out you and I are both out of a job. I also can not confirm or deny that you are in fact the father, you see I was sleeping around with several other caddies, my husband, his golfing buddies and poker buddies, and the staff at the club pool. But there is always a chance that you may be the father." "You must tell your husband your heart belongs to me now. That it is my child you are carrying" "Hang on lover boy, I said it might be your child. Right now you have a on in 17 chance at being the father. I told my husband, he was just happy that I was prego; invetro ain't cheap and Florida law says a child born into a marriage is deemed to be a result of the marriage, you alos can't force a DNA test so we may never know who the fatehr is, but there is a chance that it is you. I kow that you are in this emotional state because your girl friend dumped you since you have no money and are a caddy on the LPGA tour, and I am sorry to have to dump you too. It is just getting a little to weird and involved for me. You can finish out the season w/ me but you're off the bag after that." Robinson hangs his head and weeps. His heart torn to pieces, his pride bruised and ego tattered he sobbs tears of sorrow and deapair. Days go on and he thinks of ways to get back at her for breaking is delicate heart. One day as he was cleaning her clubs he had a moment of clearity. He figured out a way that he could get back at his boss and get his old girlfriend back. Due to his emotional state he would do anything just to feel some happiness again. "I will sue Jackie Gallagher-Smith for inlicting emotional distress, she has 1.1 million in career earnings. This thing won't go to trial, she'll pay up on the spot. When I get a big settlement, I will have money and my ex-girlfriend will come running back. I will have the best of both worlds; revenge and retrobution! AHH HA HA AHH HA Ha!" ...................These are the days of our lives. I've got to much time on my hands
  22. You're going to have fun. Gifts are expensive and it gets to be a real hassle when your buddies give you money to get them something. Food is very reasonable, you have to get a pamento cheese sandwich. It sounds crazy but it is a tradition that has been going on forever. I only eat pamento cheese sandwiches when I go to the Masters. You can get a beer and a sandwich for $5. Living in GA I have been able to go 9 times, the best is during the week for the practice rounds. Most everyone is laid back and will talk to you. The weekend rounds are hectic and crowded. Even though it is a game of civility, some of the patrons (as Augusta National call them) can be rude. One year some jack ass was trying to wedge himself up to the rope where my dad and I were standing and wound up knocking my dad down over the rope. I thought we were about to get booted and was wondering how pissed my dad would be if I acted like I wasn't with him to avoid getting thrown out (it would have been a 120 mile walk home). Luckily the security guys saw what happened and helped my dad up, apologized and escorted the other guy away. It is real hilly, wear comfortable shoes or set up camp on a green or tee box and stay. Pros (or at least club pros) get in if they have their PGA of America card with them. I went with our club pro one year, he just flashed his card and walked right in. I hope you have fun, make sure you stay on your friends good side or don't let him forget (11 months is a long time). Cheers
  23. She barley broke 80? If you look at the Golf Channel web page it gives the final scorecard. Danielle was 2 over after 17, Pam was 3 over. In less than favorable conditions, plus the course will be in much better shape for an LPGA event. Danielle was also a finalist in the LPGA qualifying school in 2003. I bet she broke eighty (several times) then. Does anyone actually think that if they played the last hole she would card a 10? You people need to get a clue.
  24. Didn't forget about anything. It is the cumulative strokes on one hole not the entire round. Besides, can you tell me what she shot that round? You can't because it wasn't an entire round, she won on the 17th hole. No one knows what would have happened on the 18th had they played the 18th. As for the conditions, look at some of the score from the PGA in wet and cold conditions earlier this year, look at the results from teh windy conditions from the MCI Herritage. There wasn't a single contestant on that show that could've played better. Around par or not, she played good enough enough to win last night. Everyone needs to quite whining about Danielle winning last night and get over themselves.
  25. That is the most ignorant thing I've read. You obviously don't understand match play. Her score is not based on the amount of strokes per round. Further more, it will be about 20 to 30 degrees warmer than when they shot the show and I wouldn't call it soft, more like wet. Did you not the the rain during the round. Get a clue.
