Well, I'm the Cards fan around here apparently. I have mixed feelings about this deal. I wanted to keep Haren. I don't like trading away young prospects AFTER having lost a MAJOR portion of out team to free agency. The loss of Williams and Matheny was big, but losing Renteria is enormous. We'd better sign Cabrera if we want to still have a chance to compete.

Per this article on ESPN.com, EA Sports has singed a five-year deal with the NFL that allows them eclusive rights to all player and NFL licenses. This virtually puts a nail in the coffin of the ESPN 2K# line of NFL games that have recently given EA's Madden a run for their money. At a much cheaper price of only $20, ESPN's game offered what some felt as better gameplay and an overall better product for nearly a third of the price. To complain, even though it won't work, go and sign the petition below. http://www.petitiononline.com/nfleacon/

Honestly, I don't even know truly what they are or the point of them is. The most I know is that someone used the heck out of one in one of the Majors this past year and did very well with it (Todd Hamilton, maybe?).

Damn, misread the question. Thought it just meant all tournaments. So my answer is that I watch the same. No more, no less.

1. I play more golf. But that's not due to Tiger. Well, maybe it is. Had the sport not gotten bigger, I may never have given it a chance. 2. I watch less than if he is in contention. The two guys other than Tiger that are my faves are Scott and Garcia, so if none of the three are in contention, I tend to yield to football in the Fall and Winter. The rest of the year I watch no matter who is going to win. 3. I think 264 consecutive weeks atop the World Ranking is his greatest accomplishment. It shows domination over a period of several years and not just two great, great years where he won four majors. 4. Biggest problem of 2004? Pour driving accuracy, although I think this was mostly mental and there were a lot of outside things that had his attention instead of golf. 5. I think he'll win 2-4 events in 2005. Maybe more, but I'm not ready to make that call yet. 6. He'll win one major. If I had to guess, I'd pick the Masters. 7. He'll end his career with a ton of majors. More than 13, but not sure if he'll get to 19 or not. Too many variables to make an informed guess. 8. Greatest golfer? I haven't been into golf long enough to fairly make a choice. Of my lifetime it is Tiger, so I'm going to give him the nod.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Light yellow Atlanta Braves hat? As Summer on The O.C. would say, "Ew." There is no yellow in the Braves' colors. I am a visor person. Depending on the shirt color I will wear my red Arkansas Razorbacks visor or a light blue PGA Tour visor. I have plenty of caps as well, and a few other visors (a dark green and a dark orange) that I wear every now and again, but the red and blue get the most use.

Why are my Cardinals suddenly making all of the wrong moves? Now I'm worried. Maybe we need to sign Kris Benson. At least it'd give the team a reason to come to the ballpark every day.

Bah, I'm a little late. I wanted to be the first to mention the movie. I rented it the other day but was planning on watching it this weekend. I also was planning on posting a full review in my blog (so feel free to check that out after the weekend if you're interested). It is great to hear that you enjoyed it. Hopefully I will, too. Jones was an amazing man and golfer. Can you imagine if he'd never stopped playing? Where would his place in history been then?

pain-relief bracelets
Mr_Slice replied to Newbie Collection Agency's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
LOL Love the Lance Armstrong comment. I'm really not sure what they are. There are so many "causes" today that it wouldn't surprise me. What exactly does a pain-relief bracelet do? Or rather, how does it relieve pain just by being there? -
I journied to Gainesville this year to see my Hogs almost come back and beat your Gators. I must say, it's a gorgeous, awesome stadium.

The O.C. Desparate Housewives ESPN, ESPN, ESPN Now.. anything on The Golf Channel

Addict. I had to give up Everquest. My wife and I were getting obsessed. WoW looks amazing, but the time it requires to really enjoy it is just too much for me now.

I like it. My kind of thread.

Sure, make me feel dumb. ;) Soooo... start another thread and tell me all about it.

Well, we can certainly remedy that little civilian price gouging problem once I arrive back in the area. I'll just buy both of our rounds at the military rate. ;) Right now I haven't played any of my local courses. The two courses that I've played in the Austin area are The Golf Club at Crystal Falls and the Lago Vista Course at Lago Vista Golf Clubs . I shot a 101 at Crystal Falls (my second ever round of golf) and a 120 at Lago Vista (my first ever round of golf). I do plan on playing a couple of times in Panama City Beach, FL over the Christmas holidays, though. Part of the reason I chose to be stationed in New Orleans is that the base I am living on had its own course. But when I got here I found out that they had torn it down. Gotta love the bad luck.

Very nice! They've done something right. This should give the Americans a more well-rounded team of players that are playing well at the time of the Ryder Cup. It would be interesting to go back and apply the new points system to the last two years and see who would have been representing the U.S.

Don't laugh. Knight Aspect XL complete set. Hey, it was on sale... and I'm new.

Well Erik, I'm high-speed too, so we'll have to get together on both NHL2K5 and NFL2K5 sometime soon. If I find a way to copy TW2005 when I get it, I'll be happy to send it your way. ;) I am holding out for the PSP. TW looks absolutely fantastic on it. Plus, I've always liked Sony products better than Nintendo.

PS2 is the way to go! :) As for fantasy sports, I play just about everything fantasy that you can.

Does anyone else play any online sports video games? We'll just let this be a running thread. If you have a PS2 or XBox and ever want to schedule games with your fellow forum users, just post here. Currently, I'm playing ESPN NFL 2K5, ESPN NHL 2k5 and EA Sports' NCAA 2005 (College Football). Eventually, I'll get my copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 and be online playing that, as well. I'm always up for good, fun competition or an active league.

Mike, let me be the first to say, "Welcome!" It'll be great having you around, even if it isn't often. I'm sure all of us could use a better fitness routine and I've read nothing but great reviews for your Fitness Guide. I look forward to "meeting" you and talking more in the future.

I'm not sure if there is common nickname for new players (like myself) or not, but if there is it would be good to use. Caddie is definitely a good one to use. Also, perhaps we could do something with the tours. Nationwide lower than PGA and maybe eventuall Champions if people are around long enough?

Haha. I'm a lightweight. I once got drunk (yes, literally plastered) off of one Bud Light and two Mike's Hard Lemonades. Had to have someone drive me home. As far as a label, I prefer "refined." :)

Pedro started in the National League. It shouldn't be too much of a change. The really good pitchers can pitch against anyone. Most pitchers can't hit anyway, so I doubt that'll make a huge difference. You can sacrifice one batter in the line-up if the pitcher is holding opposing teams to only 1 or 2 runs. I don't think he'll end up in N.Y., though... at least not THAT N.Y.
