  1. Wow. My team is -17. I believe Erik is also. Talk about a good start!
  2. I'm sitting on -9 with a lot of holes left to be played. Crazy, crazy, crazy.
  3. I've been a big Cardinals fan my entire life, but even after last year's World Series appearance, it seem like my interest in baseball just dwindles. Of course, I'll be floating in the Pacific Ocean for 90% of the season this year anyway, so no need to get too excited about it for me.
  4. That's supposed to be only done as a last resort. Because you'd be using two starts to get one round worth of scoring. But that's fine. Just would have been nice if you'd have let me know.
  5. Noted, regarding money flow from sponsorships. I personally feel winning a tournament is important. I wouldn't have much respect for a guy that played in only the four Majors and one won of them. Doesn't really mean much to me.
  6. I guess this idea died out quickly.
  7. I'm at 49.6. That's a bummer about the error message. They need to get that fixed. It's a big deal.
  8. And who buys Taylormade and Titleist products, Erik? The money ultimately DOES come from the fan. The fans are who buy the products, which in turn means the company can pay for endorsement and sponsorship in order to get more fans to buy the product. If you want me to say that I just want him to play more and I have no reason, fine. I'm not going to answer your questions with the choices you're giving me, though. I want to see Tiger play well in at least half of the tournaments held during the year. That's what I want. But you are right. They don't get paid unless they make the cut. So that was an unfair argument by me earlier. I retract that.
  9. I understand fully why they aren't playing, I'm simply saying that I don't have to agree with it as a fan, since it isn't my life in question. You are absolutely correct about the time off aspect for players. I'll never agree with you, though. In my opinion, if you're getting paid millions of dollars to entertain and play a game, then do it the entire season. Because the "season" is so long, I have lowered my expectations to only half of the tournaments. If Tiger can't play well in half of the tournaments, then he needs to get better. Simple as that. The money comes from the fans ultimately. Sponsorships, endorsements, ticket prices, etc. It just bugs me that most professional athletes take their "job" so selfishly. If it weren't for people like us that watch them and pay to see them (and buy there DVD collections), they would be playing golf for free on the weekends and working in an office somewhere just like me.
  10. The great thing about being a fan is that I don't have to care what his reasons are. I have the luxury of making demands that will never be heard just because it's something I want, and not necessarily what is best for him. There are roughly 50 weeks of tournaments and events that can be played on Tour this year. (I may have miscounted because some tourneys run the same week and well, its a long list anyway.) Is it that much to ask that golfers play half of those tournaments? So they travel a lot and it's hard work... okay. I get four weeks off a year, which means I work at least 11 months out of the year. All I want to see is these guys work for 6 months. Gosh, am I really being that unrealistic?
  11. As of this morning, it doesn't look like Tiger plans on playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week. Am I the only one that thinks he should be playing? It's just such a great course, I can't understand why he feels he needs two and three week breaks between tournaments. Maybe I'm being too hard on him, since he does have a family now and all. But it sure would be nice to see he and Vijay battle for that #1 ranking this week, at this course.

    Super Bowl

Thanks for telling me what I did. I didn't freak out. In fact, I wrote a post earlier about the AFC and how I never once said they weren't a tougher conference. It either didn't get posted or someone deleted it. The toughness of the AFC conference doesn't mean anything to me. My team doesn't play in the AFC. You are the one who will not give up this emotional "what if" scenario that Pittsburgh would've beaten the Eagles. I'm not the one who needs to let it go. My team played the champs closer. Period. End of damn discussion.

    Super Bowl

Since that isn't the case, it's not even worth addressing. Widely held opinions don't win Super Bowls. Neither did the Eagles, neither did the Steelers. That is all that matters.

If this, if that. Whatever, Erik.
  15. I'm a huge college basketball fan. Absolutely love March Madness, even though my team's chances of making it in are once again slim to none this year. I miss hockey, too, though. Kind of worried about what the NHL will look like when and if it ever comes back. Thank goodness we have a team in Seattle that plays whether the NHL does or not. Season tickets here I come! And really, there's no need to worry... we've got golf. It's a sport, right?

    Super Bowl

Remember how you felt when your team lost the AFC Championship game? Well, multiply it by 100. This was the freaking Super Bowl. One that Philly fans have been waiting decades for. Hell yes I am going to get angry when people do nothing but disrespect the team. The effort wasn't good enough last night, no doubt. But for people that root for teams who couldn't even make it to the SB, and that lost much worse than the Eagles did, to talk smack... that doesn't cut it.

    Super Bowl

Your team, and the Colts, got whooped. My team wasted away opportunities to win and still almost did. I don't even want to hear any of that crap about conferences because the Eagles gave the Patriots all they could handle, and no fan of any other team can say the same. (And don't bring up that regular season win over them by Pittsburgh, because that sure didn't mean anything when the playoffs started.)

    Super Bowl

I deserved that for my Pittsburgh comments. I congratuate New England as well. They epitomize the word "team." But to all who are not New England fans, remember that all of your teams were sitting at home tonight, not playing in the game. The Eagles played hard, played close, but came up short. I am proud of them. We all know why they didn't win. The mistakes, the lack of hurry up offense, and the Patriots sheer will to win. But we will be back next year.
  19. Wow, very nice. At least you have three guys on the course today, though. My two did alright. But pretty much all of us have Phil and at least half of us have Vijay. So, I won't be moving up. LOL
  20. I had two miss the cut. Yippee.
  21. I don't know what I shot today because I threw my scorecard into a lake, along with a handful of tees, a nickel I was using as a ball marker, a couple of balls and almost my 7-iron. Needless to say I was not happy with my performance.
  22. I'm at +4 right now. LOVING LIFE!!
  23. Congratulations, Erik! You've earned that. I hope it only gets better for you.
  24. I wasn't aware that anyone's value had ridden high enough to let you have a 66.6. That's crazy. And just in case I'm not the only one, I totally missed that "Devil" comment. Right over my head.

    Super Bowl

To each their own. I know I haven't been into them lately when I didn't care about either of the teams. Of course, for me, this one is different. But yeah, I bet you could get a really good seat at a movie.
