  1. Thanks for the advice! I was out at the range today, trying out my new clubs. I'm pretty impressed with them. I definitely could use some lessons though. I'm hooking up with the ball pretty much every time, but I'm just not consistent in how far I'm hitting the ball, or in which direction. HA! If I'm not trying to hit the ball as hard as I can, I can be a little more consistent. I did hit a few with full retard strength and knocked a couple out to 250 yards! :D
  2. Hello! My name is Matt. I'm in the Air Force, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. I just turned 31 years old last week. I have never ever had an interest in golf until recently. I was in Oklahoma City last week doing some flight simulator training with my boss, a Lt. Colonel. He pressured me into going golfing with him. I told him that I'd rather sit in my hotel room and punch myself in the face, but he kept pressuring me all week. Finally, I caved in and went. Let me tell you, I really SUCK at golf, but I was hooked after that first game. I had a blast. This game is really addictive! So much so, that I went out and bought my first set of clubs tonight. I am back in Alaska now, and bought my clubs at Sports Authority. I bought some Tommy Armour Diamond Scot clubs. I was interested in the Royal Scot clubs since they were only $300 and had good reviews. But they were out of them and the manager sold me the Diamond Scot clubs for the same price as the Royal's. I haven't tried them out yet, but I'm going to head out to the driving range after work tomorrow. Has this happened to anybody else?
  3. My wife and I took a few Carnival cruises when we lived in Oklahoma. We just drove down to Galveston and got on the boat there. I had absolutely ZERO interest in going on a cruise. I HATE guided tours, and canned vacations and things like that. I like to get out and just do my own thing. But my wife insisted and we went on a cruise. We both had a total blast. The food on the boat is fantastic! It's like eating at a 5 star restaurant every night. Get the late dinner. Sure, you have to be there at a certain time, but I didn't mind. I made sure I was there every night. The food is awesome, and you can have as much as you want! Yes, you'll put on some pounds. The last cruise we went on, a few years ago, was tons of fun! We rode the Elation from Galveston. We went to Progresso, Cozumel and Belize. When we got to Progresso, my wife wanted to go see Chechen-Itza (Mayan ruins). I was NOT interested in the 2+ hour bus ride to get there. But she insisted and we went. I was picturing a Mexican bus with chickens running around. But it was a nice, air conditioned charter bus. Also, they sold Dos Equis for .75 cents each!!! By the time we got to the ruins, I was roaring drunk! It was a blast. I climbed the huge pyramid there. I could have fallen off and died. Nobody cares in Mexico. When we got to Cozumel, my wife wanted to swim with the dolphins. It was expensive and I didn't want to swim with the dolphins anyways. But we did it and it was awesome! Those dolphins are amazing. I got to ride one like it was a motorcycle or something. Crazy. When we got to Belize, we went snorkeling. It was a cheap trip, but it was incredible. They took us out to this island that looked like something on a post card. It was absolutely beautiful. The ship is fun too. There's always something to do or eat. Just get a cheap room. We were only in our room when we just couldn't take any more fun. We'd go pass out for a few hours, and then be back at it! It's the best bang for your buck you can get! The only thing you pay for on a Carnival cruise, is alcohol, and the trips you can take when you dock.
  4. 2008 Pontiac G6 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4 I have to travel to Oklahoma several times a year. I have a 1996 Chevy S-10 there. I've owned it for almost 7 years now. It has 230,000 miles on it and is the best vehicle I've ever had. Here it is when I drove it to Oregon a couple years ago. Then, there's my bus.
  5. Where did you just move to in Alaska? I live on Elmendorf. I love this place! Where are you playing golf up here? I've been going to Eagle Glen.
  6. I'm a flight engineer on the E-3 AWACS in the US Air Force. I love my job.
  7. I hope that this is a COLLEGE graduation present. Anyways, have you considered a Nissan Maxima? They have a 3.5L engine with tons of horsepower. Around 300 or so. It's definitely fast. The handling is awesome and so is the responsiveness from the engine. They look sharp too. Having a 2 door car is a PITA! The Maxima is perfect. They're real reliable too. You can keep it forever. The 4 doors and all of the trunk space is great for when you're hauling friends. Someday down the road if you have kids, it's a great, sporty baby car too! And it will still be around then thanks to the reliability!
