  1. Some additinal information on my swing. I am using a 3 wood in the video and I struggle at times with consistent contact. One swing off the tee I can bomb it long and straight and the next tee could be a topped ball or pull hook. My normal ball flight is pretty straight with an occassional push which is usually playable. I am 6'3'' tall and about 260 lbs and am in my early fifties. I have no problem with getting the ball up and have great distance when I make good contact. Anything you guys can pick up on my swing that I can work on to improve will be appreciated. Thank you.
  2. I've been Playing Golf for: Many years on and off My current handicap index or average score is:20 My typical ball flight is: High and long but with an ocassional push The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Fairway wood off the deck Videos:
  3. Damn I just had a Taylormade R11 WITHOUT the wrench boxed up and just needed his address until I read that.
  4. I am 54 years old and had switched to graphite shaft irons 2 years ago. I was never comfortable with how much lighter they were so I went back to steel shafts. I tried a Wilson DXI superlight and an Adams Fast 12 driver and I actually swung and missed the ball several times in a row. Thanks for making me feel "sane" with my question. I know lighter means faster swing speed but if a heavier club can be swung st that same speed shouldn't the ball go farther?
  5. I seem to prefer the drivers from a few years back that are heavier than the new lightweight drivers of today. Don't know if this makes sense but in my baseball/softball days I always used a heavier bat and not the lighter ones because I generated enough power with my body without needing the lighter bats to increase swing speeds. I am a big guy 6'3" tall and about 255 lbs. Does this make any sense as it relates to golf? The lighter clubheads and shafts throw my timing off in comparison to older clubs.
  6. I have been getting coupon flyers regularly as I have a scorecard with Dick's. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I just used my 10.00 off a purchase over 50.00 for golf shoes and my 200 points bonus coupon last week.
  7. Just wanted to mention the awesome customer service I received from Wilson Sporting Goods. I have been a long time Wilson Staff player from back in the 70's and 80's when I played the Wilson K-28 irons. I recently lost my headcover for my Wilson Staff DXI hybrid and decided to call Wilson customer service on Wednesday. The woman(Megan) on the phone was so cordial that she said they would mail me one right away for no charge. To my surpise it arrived today Fed EX Saturday delivery. That is unheard of in today's world of rude customer service for sure.
  8. No it's over. There are plenty of them on Ebay unused.
  9. I just received mine this morning via Fedex and will be testing it out against my current 5 iron tomorrow on the range. I agree with you that Taylormade should have included some info and possibly a discount voucher to purchase the balance of the set if interested. I saw on Ebay a lot of these Rocketballz 5 irons for sale still in the original wrapping and box. Why enter a contest and sell your iron on Ebay without even trying it. I can see selling it after testing it out but not the moment you receive it in the mail. That annoys me as much as someone who obtains an autograph from a PGA golfer and then puts it immediately on Ebay. But thats a story for another day.
  10. I am a higher handicap golfer and struggle with consistancy with my iron play. I am 6' 3" and 53 years old and am able to hit the ball a long way with just a moderate swing speed. I currently play with Wilson Staff Di7 irons with graphite shafts. I have taken lessons from time to time and am always reading about the game and have a good understanding of the swing, grip and stance. My question is would I benifit from switching to steel shafts to add a little consistancy to my game. I was thinking about the Ping G 15 irons fitted to my specs. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Jeff
  11. [QUOTE=Dub;366141]Love the hybrids. I didn't like them at first because I failed to set up close to them like irons and hit down on them. Once I began addressing and hitting them exactly like my irons things settled down nice. I think that is the key, address the hybrids just as you would a long iron. Dont try to sweep the ball off the turf like a fairway wood.
  12. Futuresport: Sorry to stray a little from the topic, but I noticed you play Wilson Staff equipment as well. I always used Wilson since my Dad played with the Wilson K-28s over 30 years ago. I play the Spine driver and 3 wood,Fybrid 3 and 4 hybrids and the Di7 graphite shaft irons.I know Wilson isnt as popular as the other manufacturers, but I enjoy playing their clubs. Jeff
  13. I know I feel I have to help get the ball airborne so I dip my right shoulder causing a mis-hit(Im right-handed). My son gave me a good tip to take a little off my swing and pay attention to my shoulder dip on my downswing. When I do that,I hit the hybrids real well, but still need to be reminded at times. Hope this helps. Jeff
  14. Excellent driver, very similar to the Cleveland Hibore XLS in design and performance. If you can ignore the strange hollow sound it makes,it is well worth it. Very long and forgiving driver. I bought my 10.5 degree Spine last spring and am very pleased with it. Jeff
  15. The Di7 irons are very forgiving and are about a club longer in distance. I bought mine last August and they continue to make a steady improvement in my iron play. Very high ball flight with excellent distance. Highly recommend for the mid-high handicapper. Jeff
