  1. I hear you. What no one sees is the gentle proding behind the scenes to elicit those comments by Gipper. All reality based shows have very little reality in them!
  2. You guys fail to see that the producers of the show have to generate some drama to get you to watch from week to week. How boring would it be if you didn’t have a guy like Andrew on the show? So by careful editing, asking pointed questions you get some interesting sound bites. The show is very predictable, the only thing that isn't is the golf shots. They can't predict those, but the lead in to the end of each show is made to be misleading so you watch till the very end. Nothing like getting your advertisers maximum bang for their bucks! If I see another Cialis commercial I'll scream.
  3. It is a creepy request no matter where you are from! Like others have stated spend the money on a playing lesson it's cheaper in the long run. You'll get specific instruction for your game, by someone that is getting paid to do so. If what you want is to play with better players and see how they play a full round, that's been covered too.
  4. I took up golf because you can smoke on the course and no one says a word. The only comment I usually get is that smells great. I smoke at least three cigars during a round regardless of the time of day. It's the only time I can smoke that many and I don't get told isn't that two too many! LOL My favorite non Cuban cigars are: Padron Arturo Fuente Tatuaje
  5. This young man desrves a real answer like many have stated. Golf is the only sport where for the most part you mark your own score. To say that he will get his eventually is to say it is okay to cheat until he gets caught by someone else. I personally think that is the wrong message to send to our young man. It is something that is bothering him and he shouldn't have to lower his standards when others do so. He is seeking advice from us as adults we have an obligation to be truthful. Sorry for the mightier than thou rant in advance. As in all things in life YMMV.
  6. Smart Car, put the bag in the passenger seta and your good to go!
  7. It's called integrity, you have it and he doesn't. You'll see this a lot and in all kinds of situations. Make sure you keep your moral compass as it is a good trait!
  8. I guess he preferred your balls to his Why can't people just look at the ball where it is and determine if it is theirs? They have to pick it up walk around with it then they determine it isn't theirs!
  9. People move from one apartment to another using the subway. It never stops amazing me the things people bring on the subway. Use this program to map out your subway ride and walk to Van Cortlandt Park. http://www.hopstop.com/ Van Cortlandt is much better than it used to be and you'll be able to say you played a round of golf in a city park.
  10. Rudeness is a plague that infects everything in society today. What happened with enjoying a beautiful Sunday out with friends on the golf course? Very good of both of you to stand your ground and show him that you were playing at a good pace. Some people don't see that they are the problem.

    The Golf Fix?

I enjoy his show! They should have more informational/instructional programs on the Golf Channel. He does give some good tips and insight on how to correct problems. Just turn down the volume on your TV. You'll enjoy the show and get an idea of what he is talking about No different than any of the ESPN shows that scream information at you.
  12. That one kind of answered it all!
  13. Adams and Wilson Staff
  14. Okay, I thought you would be putting a new Graffaloy shaft on. That way you could do a comparison or at least have a fall back if you are not happy with the new driver.
  15. That one inch makes a world of difference. So if you opt for a new shaft, will you be going to an inch smaller or staying the same? Is four to five rounds a good sampling and are the grips the same? It just opens more questions than you think. I find it takes me a bit to adjust to new equipment and I give it while before I start to change things. Hope that helps.
  16. I started at 49 five years ago. You'll get better, life gets in the way. I wish I had a nickel for every time I said I was going to pratice my swing or go for a lesson. Time management is your biggest foe. Most times I go play at the spur of the moment and it shows. So yes, you can improve. It all depends on the effort and time you put into it.
  17. 1999 VW Jetta VR6, 2003 Chevy Silverado 4X4 and a 2008 Nissan Maxima SE.
  18. The R9 has a 420cc head with the weight system and upgraded shaft. You get 75 yards of adjustment with the combination of the weights and shaft adjustment The R9 460 has the 460cc head without the weight system. So you only get 40 yds of adjustment. The TP versions had different shafting, hope that helps.
  19. I switched over from the Adams Idea A2s. I like the feel of them, but they have taken me a longer time to hit them solid. The PW is more like a 9 iron and they go from there. I hit each iron farther than the Ideas by five to seven yards. Like everything it takes a while to get used to them based on your swing.
  20. Currently live in NJ and work in NYC. Born in Manhattan and raised up between there and the Bronx. Got a late start on this thing we call golf, started after my 50th birthday. This is my fourth year playing and I finally got the little lady to take an interest in the sport. Play mostly on military courses, which for the most part are very reasonable priced. This leaves me more money to buy equipment. What is it with golfers in general, this buying frenzy? Well hope to learn a lot and share the little I know. Regards to all my fellow golfers out there. Anthony
  21. Most large chain golf stores or sporting good stores run weekly specials on balls. Read up on the various types of balls and see what is on sale. When I first started I lost many a ball, it made it easier to swallow the loss. No pun intended!
  22. Just wow! It's a work of art now.
  23. I've traveled all over with the Ogio Straight Jacket and Club Glove Stiff Arm with no problems. My only extra precaution is I take a large towel and use it as a wrap to bind the clubs together. Then I just load the bag into the Straight Jacket.
