  1. Jim, Thanks. You have just hit a nail in the head. That's exactly what I'm going through right now. Nothing wrong about MP57, just that it may be just too good for me. Seems like G10 or G15 may be a good solution for me. I specially like their custom fitting service. John
  2. Iammpspeer, You may be right about MP57, but for handicap 18, i was thinking if the club is too good for me, and will it benefit me more to switch to a GI club or stick to this and endure the learning process.
  3. Leftygolfer, Thanks for the reassurance. However, the titleist 775 CB doesn't seem to be an easier club than MP60 right?
  4. Thanks. I'm thinking of going one step further to go for hybrid irons. Not sure if I'm too extreme. Any comments?
  5. I'm a handicap 18 and have been playing with Mizuno MP-57. I'm not a very consistent ball stricker, even though i can still play with my irons fairly well. Recently, i have come across a crazy idea. Golf is supposed to be enjoyable, why make my life so difficult using players' clubs when i can play the game with so much less stress using easier clubs. Hence, I have been thinking about switching to a super game improvement club like a hybrid irons set. Anyone has experience downgrading from a players club to a super game improvement hybrid iron clubs? What is your experience with it? Is it the best decision you have made?
  6. Thanks. I was thinking about adding a 3 wood purely for tee-off just in case if my driver fail for the day, or have very tight fairway. On the other hand, would it make sense to carry around another club just as a spare for driver when i can actually use my 5 wood to tee-off and the distance lost compare to 3 wood is about 20 yards? Any advise or comments? To simplify my game, i do not want to introduce too many different variables (e.g. driver, fairway woods, hybrid, irons, wedges). Despite what the pros say that all the clubs are hit the same way, they surely don't feel the same to me. In this regards, do any of you find it harder to mix woods, hybrid and iron or would it make more sense to go with a driver, 5 wood, 7 wood, 4-pw?
  7. I have a driver, a 5 wood and 3iron-PW in my bag. I'm not very good with my 3 iron and was thinking to add a 3 hybrid. Will a 3 hybrid travel the same distance as a 5 wood? Any advise if i should add a 3 wood too?
  8. You might be right, but i switched to 905 because i wanted something more demanding to train my accuracy. Too much money down the drain to change again now...... Will endure with it. Worse come to worse, just have a "crowned" driver.
  9. Mine is the R version. Prior to switching to 905, i was using a TM burner and because the driver head was taller, i never seem to have this problem before. I guess it is a confidence thing.
  10. That might be my problem, from time to time, i seem to have the tendency to hit down, and hence sky the ball. If i try to do upswing, i usually end up holding back my weight transfer, and the ball end up going left. Any suggestion?
  11. I have switched to titleist 905 recently and discovered that the front profile is quite low, meaning if you tee the ball too high, there is a high chance to sky the ball and leave a sky mark on the top paint work of the driver. How high do you tee your ball with 905? Do you tee it lower than other modern driver like TM, Cobra, etc.? Anyone has similar problem and can advise way to solve this? If i tee it too low, i have fear that i will chunk the ground.
  12. I don't think mine is overswing. i feel that if i go out there with an intension to hack the ball, i will come back with upper body ache. On the other hand, i can go to driving range and wack 300 balls and feel less tired than playing 18 hole on course, and I'm sure i don't wack 300 balls on 18 hole. So i guess the issue is probably that my muscle get tense up, while i try to force the downswing. This action probably caused the muscle to ache after the game. Anyone else has this issue?
  13. Need to borrow this thread as I'm not allowed to start my own new thread yet. I always feel very tired after a round of golf, with my shoulder and arm aching. My golf buddy is saying that i look tense on the upswing, and i'm probably using too much arm grease on my downswing. Does anyone have this same problem or is this normal? How do you overcome this problem?
  14. I am a project manager working in IT industry
