If I remember correctly, the X-18s have a very high bounce naturally. That said, I doubt it's really hurting your game.
I'm in your ball park, as I'm a very good range player, yet shoot high. I have the same issue with short game which ruins my scoring.
Again, I'm a hack as well, but you *seem* to come off your swing plane on your follow through. While your swing plane is nice and shallow throughout, by the end, your plane is super steep and a bit forced.
Hopefully I'm on point with this.
When my tempo gets off, I either hum or sing "row row row your boat"
I find that this gets me a good 80% but more importantly, it self corrects the transition from backswing to my swing path and normalizes my swing speed.
OP, you got a hold of one - I wouldn't base my game around a single freak shot.
What do your drives look like?
Have you done some mat drills so that you physically
can't
chunk like that?
I can almost guarantee there's something funky going on in your lower body. Break it back down and work on just swinging with your upper body, and using big muscles. Then, slowly reincorporate your lower body until you find the issue.
That would be my take atleast.
