  1. If considering a clone also check out Pinemeadowgolf dot com.
  2. Thanks guys for the advice! My local Hank Haney's has a $100 per month, all you can hit. I guess I got a little over zealous about it. Also I felt great the rest of the day. I was working mostly on pitch shots from 30 to 70 yards out. It wasn't until the next morning that I felt the pain. So the overall consensus is to: Not to hit so many balls, flare the front foot a little more, and complete the hip turn without it sliding out so much. Maybe I could slow down my tempo too.
  3. After going to the range and hitting a few hundred balls I felt good. The next morning I woke up and right foot (I'm a lefty) was in dire pain. I ended up having to go to my podiatrist and getting a cortisone shot. I must have rolled over my ankle so many times and pull some muscles. I guess the obvious advice is not to do that but I'm sure I'm not the only one that ever had that problem. What have you guys done to avoide that kind of injury going forward? Good shoes? Ankle supports? What's worked for you?
  4. Along one side of the space they have hitting cages. Some of it taken by the Hank Haney Golf Range where they are selling lessons. Some of it is dedicated as an indoor range where you pay a few bucks to hit a small bucket. There they do have a small selection of different clubs you can choose from. It's nothing organized by manufacturer and the PGA store is much better. They did have one custom club fitter at a small display with different shafts you could try. It looked good and I expected much more of that. To be fair it was the first day and it is entirely possible that more vendors will be there Saturday and Sunday when more people are expected to be in attendance. I am assuming that the vendor displays are going to be occupied by the same vendors all weekend. Maybe the manufacturers will be taking over the space for Saturday and Sunday. I think Hank Haney himself is supposed to give a demo of some kind. The only space remaining to be occupied was at the very back and some hitting cage space. The show had way too may golf destination and non golf displays. If you're into golf travel then you need to go because there are a lot of them.
  5. I took the day off today and went to the 2010 North Texas Golf Show in Dallas. I spent $14 bucks getting in and what a waste! I had expected manufacturers to be there showing off their lines and equipment and giving demonstrations. I did not see one major manufacturer there. It was half golf related; mostly golf resorts trying to push their accomdations and golf courses, a couple used equipment shops, some hitting cages, and a long putt competition that cost $5 bucks for a few chances. Otherwise it was overwhelmed by DirectTV, roofers, attic insulation, pave stone, home remodeling, hand creams, sports memorabelia, and the like. Are all golf shows like that? I was there for 1 hour and went home. I was hoping for so much more.
  6. This is my first real post so hi everyone. I've been reading on the forums and have learned a lot. Basically I'm getting back to playing golf after a lot of years of playing tennis. My knees cant take it any more. I've been going to the range religiously to build reliable strokes and learning about equipment. I just got a set of Mizuno MX200s and love em. Now to my question. Years ago I was set up in a group with a guy that played on the University of Florida golf team. Every time he teed off, the ball would fly low for about 30 yards and take off like a rocket. It made such an impression on me that I've always wondered how that's done. What are the equipment, ball, and stroke requirements for that shot? I sure would like to be able to do it. I think I did it once accidentally.
  7. Has anyone tried the Leupold GXII? I've been thinking about that one.
  8. I didn't follow Jack much but if we're comparing the two, he must of been really good in his prime. I've just recently gotten back into golf and have been watching Tiger make some incredible shots. He knows when to take his chances and to go for it. It doesn't hurt to be able to put the ball exactly where you want it.
  9. After a 15 year layoff (been playing tennis) I watched a lot of youtube instructional videos, went to driving range a few times, and finally went to the course. I played Indian Creek in Carrollton, TX and shot a 91. I figure it's only going to get better from here. I was just amazed that I shot under a 100.
  10. Business systems analyst and project manager.
