  1. so ive been having a problem with straightening up at impact and hitting some slices and pushes. i think the problem could be that my weight at address was too much on my toes and when i came back to strike the ball i would have to straighten up and get stuck. could having my weight too much on my toes be causing this? hope that made sense
  2. i try to feel like the club is coming to the outside of the swing plan. that also comes with starting the club back with a little more width... a drill for this is put a ball right behind the clubhead at adress, then take the club back if the ball rolls straight back you are starting on plan. if the ball goes inside you came to far in
  3. i would say that your starting the club so far to the inside that once you get to the top of the swing you have to come over the top. work on taking the club back more on plane. im working on the same thing and i try to feel like im taking the club to the outside but its really starting back on plane
  4. i recently had a lesson and began working a more on getting the club coming down a little more vertical and its helped my ball striking and consistency. one thing i struggle with on the golf course in my high school matches is power. its hard to compete from the back tees driving the ball 230 and having fairway woods and hybrids into every par 4 while other guys are hitting mid to short irons in. during my lesson when i was doing starting the downswing correctly and the day after at the range i was seeing a huge improvement in power exactly what i was looking for. increasing my irons yardages by almost 25 yards and hitting my driver around 255-260. Lately however i seem to still be hitting the ball straight but the power that i gained has seemed to vanish. The reason that i think this may be happening is have some what started back in the habit i was trying to fix of dropping the club to the inside at the top of my backswing losing some of my power but not to the same extreme as before. the question i had about this is are there any tips or drills that people can offer to try to get the club to come more straight down from the top and not drop bellow the plane at the top resulting in inconsistency and flipping. Will try to post a video as soon as possible my other question is one about power. i know most people say the old "swing easy hit it long", and light grip pressure and such but i find i hit the ball equally ell with a light grip throughout the swing as i do with a light take away and a firmer grip pressure during the downswing, it just feels more confident at impact. so my question is should i try to swing more rhythmically and with a light grip throughout the swing like most people suggest to do. or should i dont what feels more confident and swing harder at the ball. i hit the ball the same distance with both methods?
  5. shot 46 today at mountain gate cc. hit the ball well enough to shoot in the low 40's, real tough course
  6. shot +2 at a little par 3 course. just had a lesson day before so i didnt have a chance to work on the new things. had a lot of shots end up short and right from an open club face. my short game was the best its ever been, my only bad chip was because i just did not play the shot correctly and made bogey. i had a 3 putt on a very tough green that led to a double but hit a great shot to two feet on the next hole to make birdie.
