  1. Well I guess I will start off by saying that I just recently got back into golf after a year hiatus from it. I started playing in the spring of 08 and played a lot. The last time out i shot 100. I know that's not very good but I know with practice and playing a lot i can bring that down. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about going to one of these 16 month golf universities to get an associates so I can work in the golf industry. I love the game and just want to work around it. I have several questions though. 1) How legit are these 16 month universities? 2) Has anyone on here ever graduated from one? If so, How easy was it to find a job? And how limited were you with just an associates? 3) Does it matter that I am not that good of a player? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to make this decision blind due to that fact that most of them cost about $13,000 and I would have to relocate to do this
  2. When I first started playing about a year and some months ago, I had a bad experience with the Nike Mojo balls on a particular round. I swore I'd never use nike golf anything. I was in the market for a putter about six months after that and found a Nike Unitized Tiempo that someone was selling here for a really good deal so I bought it. I loved it as soon as i used it. So this christmas, my fiance knew I really wanted some irons. She said she'd buy them for christmas as long as the price was reasonable. I decided on the Slingshot 4d's after reading reviews and hitting them at GG. I have played one round and some range time with them and once again was very impressed. Way more forgiving than my last set of cheap irons. The only bad thing I can say about nike's equipment is that a buddy of mine has the Sumo driver and that thing sounds like a softball bat when making contact. It's too loud for me. Kind of turned me off to nikes drivers. Which is bad because after this season, I plan on replacing my Driver and woods. Also Nike golf clothing seems a little too pricey for me.
  3. I am bound and determined this year to drastically improve my short game. I realize that 70% of shots are from 100 in. The only place I can practice short game shots are at the range, I live in an apartment nowhere to practice shots. Just wondering what types of practice drills I should use? Any help would be appreciated
  4. I also regripped with Winn dsi grips and absolutely love them. Will regrip my irons with them after this season. I just did the wedges this year
  5. I have had a 52 56 and 60 since i started playing. I use my 60 all the time around the green. It was difficult to learn how to hit at first. I still skull one every now and then. But I would say get one but practice with it at the range. I was at a local golf show on friday and my father in law and i were looking at wedges. He pulls out a wedge and starts laughing. He shows me the degree on it. It was a 70! who in the hell can hit that?!?!?
  6. I actually have two, both involving my future wife. Before I tell the story I want you to know that she decent golf. Has been shooting in the mid 90's for the past 3 months but when we first started playing this stuff happened. We were playing a par four that was lined with trees on the right. We were playing in a foursome and we all drove to the right of the fairway. We play ready golf so we all walked up to our balls. She was the first to hit. Her ball was about 15 yards directly behind her dad and uncles'. They moved behind a big tree just in case. She swings, hits the tree they are hiding behind and it veers right and nails the golf cart. I lost it! Then the second was about two weeks later. Her drive landed about 2 yards behind a tree. It was a terrible lie. It blocked her shot to the green. Instead of punching out she decides to take her hybrid and swing away. She hit it and it bounces off the tree and bounces right back into her thigh. She had a welt immediately. God love her
  7. Driver-D I slice the driver, so i've been teeing off with the 3 wood that 75% of time is straight. Irons- B- I worked hard on my ball striking this year my first year golfing Wedges-C Putter- D This is my focus this year. This and the wedges Overall C Hopefully i get better in my second year
  8. i signed up. I do have a question though. If a guy isn't playing in the upcoming weeks event, will said player be on the list of golfers. I know i had trouble with that last year, I picked people who weren't playing that week
  9. Lately I have been using the Bridgestone E6. The first time I played with it I only lost one ball the whole 18 holes. I would usually lose 2-3. So I kind of stuck with that.
  10. I have been playing golf for a year now. On the brink of breaking 100, haven't had lessons and I play probably once or twice a month. My question is.....to a below aveage golfer like myself, does playing a particular ball matter? Does playing the same type of ball and getting used to how it reacts after impact actually matter? I do have a ball i like a lot but I don't specifically play with only that ball. I play pretty much any ball i'm given or find that isn't damaged. I do have my exceptions though.
  11. you pick a foursome. They have the golfers separated into tiers. You get 1 a level, 2 b and 1 c i believe.
  12. I'm in. Send me a pm when it's set up
  13. My home course is called The Mill. It's a county park course. I believe the tips is somewhere in the 6400 yd range. I have played the tips a few times. But mostly we play with my fiances dad and her uncle, both able to play from seniors tees, so we just play from the whites and she plays the ladies. I like the layout of the course. I don't think yardage matters much to me. I am usually more worried about the width of the fairways.
  14. I've already started the overhaul in my bag. The wedges and irons in my sig are all new. I'd like to get new woods and driver but money might be an issue. Also the wife has been cool so far but I might be pushing it if I try to upgrade those.
  15. frogger brush, got regripped on my lob wedge winn grip, cleveland camo hat, cleveland 56* CG14 gun metal black
