  1. Definately don't miss the bag piper at Spanish Bay. Check out Stix there too - awesome food! At Pebble, be prepared for spectacular views and some killer holes and have some fun. GO FOR THE CADDY! The best thing I ever did, they are seriously worth the money. My favorite is Barney, and if you see him tell him Ryan and Genevieve say hi (we met him when we were there the first time, getting engaged and then again on our honeymoon so I think he'll remember us). He is a lot of fun. But even if you can't get him, it was definately worth having the caddy for the Pebble course. And don't forget your camera!
  2. Good to see so many so-calers on the boards. I'm out in the Palm Springs area myself.
  3. I wash mine as I go - keep a damp towel on me, but they get banged up pretty good. I try to have a set just for practice, but I'm talking my wife into letting me spend the few thousand a new set will cost (we're going to do a trade, she wants new living room furnature! lol) and let my now-playing-clubs be practice clubs. I think if you practice every day at the range (which I do) and play as often as possible, you're going to get dinged up irons. It just happens.
  4. Name is Ryan, I live in the Palm Springs, CA area. I shared this somewhere else, though you all might get a kick: I called Titleist just maybe 2-3 days ago and asked them if they make a 2 Iron in the new 710 MB Forged Clubs. The lady laughed at me and told me that I have not had one of those request in quite some time. I know that most players including tour players have gone to hybrids. I have actually never tried a hybrid. I love my 670 (old Titleist) and I don't have the heart to change. I guess now I am forced to change unless I keep the 670 or I know they make the 2-iron in a cavity back, but I have not hit a cavity back in about 22 years.
  5. Ha! You're not kidding. My wife and I always try to get out of town for a week during the summer.
  6. I take my wedding ring off to golf and to practice. My wife doesn't like it much but I've lost a ring before that way. I figure better safe than sorry a second time! Also my grip doesn't feel quite right with the ring on. Perhaps because I'm so used to taking it off? The ring stays home, the rest go into my bag. The ring goes into my wallet if I go practice right after working.
  7. It is a toss up! I had an awkward bunker shot from the fairway on my second shot on the par 5 first hole. My feet were above the ball by a good three to four feet and I was able to make good contact with the shot which led to a poor third shot which was an 8-iron to the green but then I holed out the 30 yard bunker shot for birdie. I don't recall having two bunker shots on the same hole and making birdie before. The next one was: I had 250 yards into the par-5 and I had to hit it over water so I decided to go for it with a 2-iron. My ball landed over the water and I came up about 15 yards short and pitched to about a foot that led to another birdie. This was on the fourth hole. It was a fun round on a course I'd never played before!
  8. 1. Start holing more putts like I used to as a kid. I've been practicing morning and evening just like I used to. 2. Continue to improve my golf swing (changed it four years ago) 3. Find a new golf coach - mine moved to Arizona so I need to find someone I can trust again in the Palm Springs area, someone who can take me to the next level.
  9. This is a tough question! I would have said Tiger before everything happened recently but honestly, Jack has more class and that in itself makes him a better golfer. When it comes to who is the better athlete, Tiger is much better. Jack and Tiger both have a great mental game. If Tiger can straighten himself out, he could very well go on to become truly the greatest player ever.
  10. 36 and in the best shape of my life!
  11. Hey welcome! I'm new myself. I live out in Cathedral City - which being so close you probably know. I normally just say "Palm Springs" because 99.9% of the people I speak to have no clue where Cat City is. Welcome to Titleist irons - they are my personal favorite.
  12. I'm a personal trainer specializing in golfers - and I live in the perfect place for that, Palm Springs, CA. Home to over 100 golf courses and growing every year!
