  1. Of course the field catches up with him - every year he gets older. He even admits this himself. Golf might be a sport that you can play competitvly into a high age - that doesnt mean you can reconnect with your old glory days in your prime when you are 10/20 or 30 years older.. Especially now as all the events are setup as power courses. Bomb it or go home - sadly.
  2. You mean Hoffman winning, again? No way. As it is right now, print out the field, throw a dart at it and your odds of picking a winner is probably just as good going after it with statistics or logic. Its wide open (and in some sense, even Tiger could win ;) ) as it has been pretty much the entire season i would say.
  3. Hoffman won by 12 over Tiger with a final 62 this week (just mentioning it since everything non-Tiger seems to be forgotton rather quickly) - there are other people out there that can play well too, especially if they dont have to fear the KittyCat anymore.
  4. So normally when i make Tiger prediction i´m dead wrong - but Tiger winning - what kind of booze are you guys on. Please sober up before you go to your bookie and bet the house. I dont care by how many strokes he won last year - this year is the present, and this is much different than any other year Tiger ever played. He can be happy making it to the finals and maybe keeping his #1 spot. If he drops out and Mickelson advances, even Mickelson cant screw up that bad to not overtake him. BTW. is this the new game now - everybody´s calling Tiger out for the win on the next tournament, and everybody goes TOLD YOU SO HE IS BACK after the 10th attempt when he finally wins again?
  5. Is Mickelson the biggest choker ever? I mean everytime he comes close to #1 in the world he goes faster down the leaderboard than the speed of light..... How can a guy with this kind of nerves even deserve to be #1?
  6. Yeah they probably didnt buy the rights for the Fedex cup events for early coverage (also notice that normal weekend coverage is on CBS and Fedex seems to run on NBC) - i guess the GC execs are kicking their butts right now knowing they could have shown Tiger and Phil for quite a bit!
  7. I dont think its the broadcasters fault that the big names are all so far back in the field that they dont get any air time. Play better - get more airtime, make your fans happy. And everybody knows that weekend coverage starts from 3pm to 6pm ET as a standard, and the PGA Tour has to set tee times that the final group fits into this patterm (otherwise it would be sort of weird to not have broadcasting time allocated for the last groups) - and when the PGA tour calculates for 4hour 20 minute rounds (as a twosome) - what can you do... If these chumps would just play faster and finish their rounds in the 3 1/2 hour mark, we would get to see a lot more actual golf being played (instead of commentator trying to fill the time) - but it is what it is (boring). The PGA tour covers - the 18th i think - live - the application they have is actually not bad - highlights for the hole that you can replay or just watch it live as it happens - now if they would have this for 18 holes + protracer on every hole + replay + option for superslowmo + different camera angles - that would be AWESOME! One can dream, right?
  8. Was Tiger wearing a Stanford shirt - doesnt he always wear a Nike shirt? Are they paying more than Nike?
  9. Oftentimes even when you know what you are doing wrong wont help you since your body says otherwise. Just take a couple of days off and come back strong - always works! Oh and btw - the frustration you are feeling, thats just the beginning in this lovely game, it will get worse ;).
  10. Yep, i´m also in the scooping camp. BTW. trying to swing hard with a wedge somehow destroys the purpose of a wedge shot, doesnt it? Just take one club more and have a better success and accuracy rate.
  11. It seems like integretiy and honesty just doesnt count anything anymore. And people actually get annoyed or offended when the rules they agreed to, are being enforced. The comments i read over the last couple weeks by people defending or sympathizing with people who break rules, makes me sick. I dont know why that is, but unfortunately the lying and cheating ways by some many you find in every aspect of our society seem to creep in more and more into a game that was once based on honesty and integrity. And then you have the media that supports this trend. Just think about the GolfChannel. Running a poll during a broadcast if a USGA rule is fair or not? Giving a known golf cheater like Donald Trump an own TV show? Whats next - Tiger Woods giving marriage counseling? And when i was asking for examples of women that called penalties on themself - i really wasnt kidding, i only found ONE single example somewhere hidden away in a blog, Pat Bradley, but come on, thats hard to belive. So i guess there is a lot of sweeping under the rug going on, otherwise thats not explainable. There was a thread here called "The LPGA is a joke", i guess it has been proven once again, since it seems that the LPGA will not penalize the action of these two players anymore than what they received by the tournament officals. Very sad....
  12. If he keeps playing like that, Corey might even have a change of mind..... That would be disastrous for the Ryder Cup (at least for the Euros :) ). Go Tiger (or at least dont suck sooo obvious)..
  13. Actually a good idea since these tours are almost never covered here unless they are co sanctioned events, so we can get a glimpse of whats going on over there.
  14. http://www.waggleroom.com/2010/9/3/1...ddie-speaks-on Just a little excerpt: If this doesnt smell after cheating - i dont know what else someone would have to do more...
  15. LOL - you guessed right ;)
  16. Accuweather is normally pretty good at the hurricane stuff.
  17. Those guys actually play during rain showers??? This hurricane actually might influence play with lots of rain and a bit of fury left:
  18. I actually think its not racism that will most likely influence the outcome, but money. While reading on this topic, i found out that the LPGA´s single biggest money stream and a big proportion of its revenue is from a TV contract with J Golf, which is a Southkorean TV company. The money that J Golf is paying the LPGA is peanuts, compared to the PGA Tour, so they have to be operating on a very slim budget already. Now if you would stir up a lot of trouble and blame those two korean players of cheating - that might rub on some peoples ego´s, and since the LPGA is in no position to negotiate or make decision that are to the disliking of the people who basically have them "by the balls", the so called investigation the LPGA started into this matter most likely will water down the events that actually took place. So those two played the wrong ball, sadly found out 2 hours afterwards and of course immediately turned themselves in. And of course this never would have happend if the caddies would have done a better job. Something along those lines will mostly come out of this "investigation" - and everybody can save his face........ BTW. i was intrested in finding a couple of examples of ladies calling penalties on themselves - i really had a hard time finding examples. Anybody can give me some? I can´t even remeber seeing any on television ever.
  19. I bet you 10 internetbucks she cant stay out of trouble within the next 12 months!
  20. They read your concerns and hired me to do the paintjob - i hope i finish by 2015. What colour do you want the water to be, what goes best with your TV?
  21. I got one - since men arent allowed to wear shorts but women are allowed in skirts, why dont men just start wearing skirts if you guys think thats such a urgent matter? E.g - - the sunday outfit would be a great match for Ian Poulters liking, and maybe Saturday fits well with Tiger? Alternatively they still could go the scottish route...
  22. Isnt sunblock more defined by SPF than kind or brand? I mean these guys dont go out there every day to get tan like some golfers do - they want to stay healthy, and they focus on training and practicing. So my guess is, they use quite a high SPF. And since its not unhealthy to use SPF 50 or 30 - why not?
  23. You most likely would receive disciplinary action by the PGA Tour - since you broke a PGA Tour rule, maybe a cash fine. Playing on the PGA Tour is a business with certain guidelines, not that much different than your actual job. If you show up for a meeting with a client in shorts /polo/sandals, it would be regarded as very disrespectful and you might have had this job for the longest time... I read the case of Sandra Gal who showed up in a little bit too less during a practice round, and she was told to change or otherwise they wouldnt allow her to play (that rule was actually enforced by the club since it was a practice round outside the LPGA "circus"). During the actual LPGA tournament - nobody said anything, since the LPGA probably would allow you to play in a bikini when you meet certain goals :).
  24. So now you are an idiot when you wear pants in the summer? This summer i wore shorts maybe 2-3 times. Wearing pants is my personal choice, so what should it be other peoples concern or intrest what i wear? There are quite a few good reasons to wear pants - e.g. you minimize sun light exposure to your skin, or, when you play a course that has lots of bugs they have less area to bite you. So you see, its not just about the temperature that dictates your clothing.
  25. I think we are on the same page here
