  1. I can assure you that it doesnt work. I tried it all yesterday. i had to swing to completely miss tghe ball on the inside.
  2. okay, i went and was fitted today with the mizuno shaft optimizer. Hit Diablos, mp52's, i15's, AP2'sand a couple passes (you see why below) with the mp58's. I know that the diablo's are not the club I want. I left thinking the 52's or ap2'S. I was absolutely flushing the ball with about every swing. I was outside on range and pro kept saying that he was surprised I wasnt closer to scratch. Then I hit ONE closer to the heel and he asked if I have a tendency when I miss to hit on the toe or to SH__K it? On cue, I started SH__king the darn thing like crazy. Never have I had such an issue. I cant believe he even said the word. Anyway, i couldnt get out of it to save my life. Now I am questioning everything. Wondering if I should go back and try the mx-300. I dont want my ego to get me into a club that would be worse for my game than another. Should we all be playing game improvement clubs and just try to hit the ball staight. I am a straight hitter. Ping felt good, as did the ap2 and the 52/58's.
  3. Actually I am a bit converned about going all the way down to a 45 degree wedge with the new grooves. I really want to hit a bunch of cluibs to compare but the problem is that I am 3 degrees flat, so there are really only a couple that can be built in the fitting cart that will go there. Ping and Mizuno. I want to see th ball come off the club set up the way I would be buying it.
  4. I have played the Ocean Course literally dozens of times. I played it before they softened the course up to get the players to return for the Wordle Cup (they didnt want to comoeback after the "War by the Shore". It is all about the wind! Scores follow the wind. I have played Driver into par 3. I have also played a 7 iron (usually 155) hole high into a 215 yard par 3. The wind can be absolutely brutal.
  5. Going on my annual golf trip with 7 other guys for week at end of April. Havent been able to play yet this year and will likely only get out 2-3 times before I go. I have been playing same ping i3 irons for 11 years. Going to purchase a fitted set of irons this week (mizuno 52/58). Would you just game the new ones and not look back or shelve them completely until after the trip?
  6. My current clubs show no sign of where because they are hard as a rock, LOL. I am a decent ball striker. Impact tap has me on the money of slightly to the heal at times. Like all of us, I dont want an occassional bad shot to cland off the club and lose 30 yards either. The more I think about it, I could also see myself working on working the ball more with the appropriate clubs. It is obviously harder to work a ball consistently with 11 year old cast over sized clubs with an offset.
  7. Okay, I am struggling with type of irons to buy. I am a 7 index, with most play on fairly difficult courses. I bounce between a 6 and a 9. My iron game is fairly strong from the 6-wedges. 5 can be at times. The thing is I don't really try to work the ball. Tee to green I am a fairly straight hitter. I can turn it over if I get in trouble and am blocked out or something, but not consistently because I dont work on it. Am I better to just get a good game improvement irons instead of something like a mp52 or 58 since I dont work the ball much? My swing is flat (3 degrees) so I am somewhat limited to manufacturers. Ping, Mizuno, Taylormade, and Calloway I believe. I currently play 11 year old fitted ping i3 oversized. I assume a decade of technology improvements will also help. My pings are not long (weak lofted). Thanks in advance. Matt
  8. $360/mo. $60 food minimum. Cart Fees are extra. 27 holes. Guest fees $90. It adds up very, very fast.
  9. 2 of eight advanced. The big Least has been overrated the last few years. Kinda like the Big 12 in football a couple years ago. Texas, TTech, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri.
  10. Hello all. This is my first post. I have been playing Ping i3OS for 10-11 years. I am itching to get new clubs all through the bag. Handicap fluctuates between 7-9. Had pretty good iron play last year, but the wheels fell off my chipping last year. Was strange. Have never been a great ball striker with my 4 iron and am streaky with the 5. My question is; how much forgiveness do I lose going to mp52's or AP2's? I have been told it likely wont be that much because of technology advances over the last decade. Thoughts? I have always loved the look of forged clubs, especially the mizuno's. Other suggestions? Price is not a concern. I am not wealthy but considering the amount of money I spend on golf, I can justify it.
  11. Cheese nips should not be produced. This is the equivalent of anyone trying to compete with the Reese Cup. That is not smart.
  12. My Ping i3's that are ten years old. Okay, I am just trying to convince myself. I'm sort of digging the mp58's.
  13. Okay, my 10 year old Ping i3's arent being used by any of these guys. This is absolute confirmation that I need new sticks. Thanks.
