  1. I don't really notice the supposed extra/less ten yards I'm getting off the tee from a Titleist ProV1 as opposed to the ONE Tour... It's not like my driver is the same exact distance every time I catch it (what I think to be) clean.
  2. I'd love to see some swing videos before adding my two cents.
  3. My intent isn't to actually get a definite answer, I just wanted to spur discussion and hear everyone's different perspectives...
  4. Played there simulator for the first time today... Really enjoyed it. On topic, I personally like the grips right in the middle. Little on the firm side.
  5. My advice would be to first not limit yourself to only blades. Citing that at my handicap I'm playing full-cavities. Any places near you have a used club selection you could test out?
  6. I just got my new sand wedge fitted and regripped, and when I picked it up recently, I noticed there was a small bulge that surrounded the entire circumference of the grip near the bottom. Has anyone ever seen this? Should I take it back to inquire?
  7. 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Runs like a dream.
  8. Also, I love my Golf Pride Tour Velvets.
  9. Are you going to Fran Johnson's to get them done? I was just there today.
  10. The problem with this etiquette talk is imagine walking off the course paired with an exceptionally skilled golfer, who happens to be a complete ass. He curses, doesn't fix divots, and acts like an all around douche. I wouldn't think of it as "wow, that guy was a bad golfer." I would think, "wow, that guy was a very good golfer, but sure was a complete douche!" Personally, if you can consistently shoot in the 70's or better, you're a good golfer in my book.
  11. Lighten up, bro.
  12. Say I use a golf GPS and record my own yardages? Not public information. Say, X tree is Y yardage?
  13. You're correct. A lot of responses are more well-suited to what garners a "good playing partner" when it comes to etiquette etc, which is fine, but not exactly what I had in mind when I started the thread. It was supposed to be more skill related.
  14. Pretty shocking numbers to me...
  15. I didn't really want to make a new thread, so I'll ask this question at risk of being Mr. Somewhat Irrelevant. Are using yardage books legal in high school competition? A lot of the "away" courses I play are right in the area, and I few I have played a couple times before, and I've often ran into trouble because of not knowing the distance inconsistencies from one course to another. Now that this year I have a car and a steady job, I could have the opportunity to visit courses prior to the match. Lots of hoopla, but the real question would be if I made yardage books for these courses, would it be legal to use during competition?
  16. A friendly reminder will always triumph over satirical remarks. But thanks for making me aware.
  17. How do you celebrate a nice made putt? Or anything for that matter? Fist pump? "Hand" Gun? The Chi-Chi Rodriguez? Personally, I try my hardest to keep a straight face, stroll nonchalantly to the cup, pick the ball out of the hole and give my imaginary gallery a quick wave. (Hence my quote-thingy under my avatar.) ...It sounds kind of douchey when I write it down...He he.
  18. Insightful, but the question was meant to be interpreted is what level do you consider a "good golfer." Third person.
  19. The "good golfer." Could their be an any more ambiguous definition? I have an opinion, but I'd prefer to share it later in the discussion. (At least I hope there will be a discussion.) At what point do you consider a golfer a "good" player? Simple as that.
  20. It seems to me that you've already made up your mind.
  21. The Nike ONE Tour ball has been one of my favorite balls to play, but I have always heard such bad things about the high-end Nike balls from other people. Don't be fooled by my obscene dedication to Nike clubs, I'll be very open-minded on this subject. Where have you, or others found short comings in the ONE Tour, ONE Tour D, and any other high-end Nike balls?
  22. I'm starting to feel like we're having two entirely different conversations.
  23. Not to ruin the mood... But I can't help but wonder what the replies would have been like if our esteemed leader had written a reply that was in agreement? Or commented on the magazine cover in a similar way?
  24. I didn't claim it did, but that doesn't change that I still consider myself well-dressed on the golf course. And personally, I like Ryan Moore's unique style on the course. My point somewhat off topic. It's like some golfers expect a player's skill level to be plastered on their chest. I would much rather see a talentless golfer at least look the part while on a course as opposed to having their presentation equal to their skill level.
