  1. Yes other countries have different names for the game, its because they use different laungages. Calcio in Italian means "I Kick" or "to kick" not to throw!! Anyway, thanks alot guys, hows the golf????
  2. Rule 20-3b(i) R&A; Ruling except in a hazard, the ball must be placed in the nearest lie most similar to the original lie that is not more than one club-length from the original lie, not nearer the hole and not in a hazard; There is no ruling to say that there is a 2 inch radius to work with, not with the R&A; anyway. Don't know about the USGA?
  3. Guys, Guys, Guys, put the handbags down, look both games are called Football, the English version is the oldest and can be a great game both to watch and to play, while the american version of Football is also a great game and i love to watch it too and have done since the late 80's, so as sports both games are great but some like one more than the other, agreed!!!! However on issue of naming the sports you guys in the U.S have to remember that modern day America was founded by the Europeans so in actual fact we the Europeans invented both games and there fore we make the decisions on what they are called. Not you! There is no such sport as Soccer, if Americans play a sport simlar to football that they call soccer then let them have their soccer. Now Baseball and Cricket are both incredabley boring, lets agree on that. Can't beleive that all you guys are arguing over how slow the action is in the two Football games when we are talking via a GOLF website and as much as i love golf it is hardly fast paced action all the way and it lasts far longer than either of the football games. Get a grip on yourselves. To
  4. Here's an idea, use the English system for Football (soccer). One elite leauge, 'The Premiership Leauge', each team plays every other team twice over the season once at home and once away, three points for a win, 1 point for a draw, team at the top of the leauge is the champion for the season. In addition we have special cups to play for eg. The FA Cup open to every team in the country, via rounds going to the quatre finals, semi finals then the final to decide the winner. Or stick with your systems which obviously work, but the playoffs sound better choice.
  5. I have the Chrome Satin Finish vokey's, non glare which is good. If i wanted a rusty club i would by a cheap wedge and leave it in the rain. Think the oil can wedges look terrible after a couple of rounds, would you use a wooden driver if it has wood worm, NO. If yes then let me know as i have an old one in the garage. CHROME ALL THE WAY!
  6. Looks like we have it pretty good here in the UK then, interesting to hear what some of you guys have to put up with tho. As a former boarder, (spent months at a time snowborading in the French Alps a few years back) i would be well up for hanging up the clubs for a couple of months if it meant getting in some piste time. Yeah Yeah!
  7. My newest edition to the bag for 2006, my Cobra F Speed 3 Wood. Straightest club in the bag and regularly hitting it 225yrds - 260yrds. Big club for me and getting the extra yardage is helping on the shorter par 4's and even some of the longer ones (course management and all). Best club all time, Titleist Vokey wedges, 52, 56 & 60 degree, gets me out of all sorts of trouble.
  8. While sitting here at my desk watching it rain outside it got me thinking as to whether or not americans or any other nation come to that, put away their golf clubs over the winter months as so many british do. I am taking tomorrow off and if the weather is half decent i shall be out on the course which is getting quieter by the week now. Obviously the weather has a big effect on it but do you guys play all year round???
  9. Any suggestions for playing in North Korea??
