  1. Does anyone out there spin balance their balls? Have you noticed any benefits?
  2. You may find and try the Wilson Staff Zip. They are really nice balls, and cheap too. Most week-end duffers only THINK they need Pro V-1's.
  3. The Fluid Feels were hot on the tour in their day. If the grooves are clean, I would get them. Training clubs? I do not know about that, they are not beginners clubs. You will know when you hit off center with them. Ever heard of the "Hogan Sting"? I guess they will "train" you to hit the sweet spot. When you do hit the sweet spot, they are great clubs and very workable. Fluid Feels were my first set of clubs, but put them away until I learned a good swing. I still have them, and will not sell them. I currently use the WS Goose-Neck, another good forged iron.
  4. I have three sets of Goose-Necks. Yours are made 1989 or earlier. The FG-53's were '90-'91. The earlier one's have minimal offset, where the FG-53's have none. The FG-53's also have a slightly more narrow chanel groove, distributing the weight a tad more toward the bottom, and the channel was no longer chromed.
  5. Maybe not so popular, but a very good ball none the less, is the Wilson Zip.
  6. I use Wilson Staff Goose-Necks, so I have no worries about the "new groove" rule. My clubs are from the early 90's and are still very playable. I did re-groove them once. My biggest problem is the occasional "Hogan Sting" from using bladed clubs.
  7. The Wilson CI-9's are really good beginner/intermediate clubs. However, a few lessons would not hurt your game. My game improved from the mid 90's to the mid 70's. My coach said I have a very good swing, but I was making a couple of errors on address.
  8. Frankly, I have never heard to replace wedges every year. I re-grip once or twice a year. When my wedges need attention, I regroove them. I rather like the unfinished faces I created by using sandpaper and let them rust (intentionally). As far as my regular irons, I have always used Wilson Staff Goose-Necks which have always had "V" grooves.
  9. Whew! I am new here, and happen to be a hillbilly on top of that. I recon I better watch my grammer and put on my sixth grade spelling bee hat while I am here!
  10. I played for the first time this year and eagled with a chip in on a 349 yard par 4. Club: WS Goose-Neck PW. Distance: 37 yards.
