Are you being serious!? :-\ "style"? what style?? When did wearing hot pants or booty shorts become golf course apparel?? She looks like a Georgia hooker that's trying to hard to look sexy because she knows she isn't. And normally I love seeing a chicks crotch eat her shorts, but not that girl... That chick is nasty! And as far as girls and shot guns, normally I like that too, but that chicks voice is enough to make me want to swallow my own gun... An entire season of her and I just might. Hahaha

What do you use hybrids in replace of?
SVTGolfer replied to titleistfan2016's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
4, 3, 2 hybrid. No 5 wood. No long irons. I could probably play a traditional 4 iron, but I'm lazy and these hybrids hit so good, why should I! -
There's some good lookin girls on the show this season. And even though the "preview" just aired, I already can't stand that annoying blonde from Texas "Shannon." I don't care how good she might be, I can't stand her voice! And "Zakina" or whatever the F her name is??? Is she for real!?!? Bahahaha, Nasty!!! I probably won't watch this season anyways, but I hope they're the first ones gone! Who are you lookin at? *wink*wink*

Shaft Gurus Inside… Aldila RIP Questions…

Thanks for the feedback man!! Im 95% sure im going to go beta in my new 3 wood, and probably alpha's in my two hybrids. -
Shaft Gurus Inside… Aldila RIP Questions…
SVTGolfer replied to SVTGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I never said I was basing my decision off the chart that I posted. All that chart does is bring into view the concerns that I have for choosing a shaft flex. & like I said I have the swing speed to play either shaft, and that chart confirms those facts. Maybe you didn't read my post in its entirety, or maybe you didn't understand the question? Afterall there were several of them and it was a bit complex for the weekend golf warrior to understand… In theory I can effectively play a stiff RIP alpha in my driver, but in my fairway wood I could also play a stiff RIP beta or possibly even a regular flex RIP alpha and get almost the same results. I guess I sort of answered my own questions at the end of it all. -
Shaft Gurus Inside… Aldila RIP Questions…
SVTGolfer replied to SVTGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Would you please enlighten me as to why the chart I found is somehow not accurate enough? I find it pretty spot on personally. I fall in the middle of those numbers, just as the chart suggests, which is why Im having a hard time with choosing the correct shaft flex. And ive been fitted before, but my swing has evolved and I consider myself a much more eductaed player now compared to then. And I dont buy into ANY marketting BS, so you're talking to the wrong guy about that. Hahaha 2) Im Considering the RIP beta because I do not think the alpha is what I need in a fairway wood. Worried it wont be enough launch, and that it may be too stiff. I just dont want to feel like Im swinging a 2x4… I hit a stiff beta shafted club today at the store, and oddly enough it was an RBZ "tour spoon" 3 wood (whatever that means) and although I didn't like the RBZ (still) I did like the beta shaft. It pretty much solidified my decision for what ill be putting in my new 3 wood, no matter what I decide to get. What did you not like about the alpha when you hit it in a wood? What was better about the beta? I love my alpha in my drivers, but Im just afraid its going to be too stiff, too low, and have a bad launch angle for what I need in a fairway wood. -
Shaft Gurus Inside… Aldila RIP Questions…
SVTGolfer replied to SVTGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yes, Ive seen that chart several times. Been on Aldila's site many many times myself. Its just not all that clear to me. Which is why I have the questions I have. But to answer your questions above… No. & no. Hahaha Im young, but Im out of shape. And my tempo is smooth, unless im frustrated, then I get "quick." My swing speed is 95 consistently, & when I go after it its closer to 100. Like I said I could technically play either a regular or a stiff. I play regular steel shaft irons because I have a smooth tempo swing on the course and stiff just doesnt feel right for me. Plus I like my higher ball flight with the regular shafts compared to the lower ball flight with the stiff shafts. My hybrids, fairway woods & driver are different for some reason. I have the typically problems as most amateurs, where I try to kill my graphite shafted clubs for some mental reason. When its a good day Im smooth and relaxed with both my irons and woods, but I still have a tendancy to swing too hard with my woods & driver. I play a stiff shaft in all my woods and hybrids. And ive not had a problem playing the stif shafts either, but now that Im changing my clubs a little bit, I just want to make an educated decision. I WAS playing the UST Mamiya Axivcore "tour red" stiffs in my old 3 & 5 wood. But ive since sold them. And I like this chart: SWING SPEED CONVERSION CHART When a swing speed device is not available, this chart may be used to approximate swing speed based on driver carry distance or the club used to approach the green from 150 yards. (Based on average club lengths and lofts.) Shaft Flex Driver Swing Speed (mph) Driver Carry Distance (yards) Club from 150 yards Extra-Stiff 105 + 260 + 8 or 9-iron Stiff 90-105 240-260 6 or 7-iron Regular 80-95 210-240 5 or 6-iron Flexible (A-Flex) 70-85 180-210 4-iron Ladies Less than 70 Less than 180 3-iron/lofted wood -
Ive been putting the Aldila RIP alpha stiff shaft in my drivers for the last couple years. Each driver ive purchased up to now has either had one in it already or I put one in it. Currently I play an RIP alpha stiff 60 gram in my Titleist 910 D2. Im in the market for a new 3 wood, and I think ive at least narrowed it down between two, and neither of which comes with Aldila RIP, so ill have to reshaft it. Been looking into the newer RIP beta model. But can't quite seem to figure out the main difference between the beta and the gamma. Both are supposed to be more spin and more launch than the alpha. Another thing is; In theory, because the RIP shaft is a much stiffer feeling shaft, would I be ok if I went with a reg flex instead a stiff flex? Im right on the cusp line of being able to play either shaft flex honestly. I dont feel like its playing stiffer than any other stiff shaft, but some people say it feels one flex more sometimes. Since I have yet to play an RIP in a fairway wood, im just wondering what shaft I should put in my new one. Im afraid that the RIP alpha 70 gram I have already may be too stiff or too low a launch or too low a spin rate for what I need. Unless perhaps I go with a regular flex instead of stiff??? Anyone know?? Thanks.

Hahaha, you're a funny guy. You dont wear one of those hats with a green 17 on it and think it makes you longer too do you? Hahaha. I see you're in Newport Beach… You didn't just buy an RBZ because it was the newest, most expensive club on the shelf did you? Hahaha And considering I see 80-95 of them at a time, once or twice a month (on average). Yes, I do notice what they play. And I can count the number of guys playing a white headed driver, fairway, or hybrid on one hand…
-
"Succesful" by who's standards or opinion?? Im in the market for a new 3 woood, and ive hit the RBZ several times. I think its completegarbage!! Ive tried every different trim of the model as well. The standard 3, the 3+, the 3 "tour", etc… all with the same results… All hype and no feel! Its heavy and clunky! Hell even the Nike VR_S is better than the RBZ. Plus the white is still as annoying as its ridiculous name… Nobody I know plays one. And that includes all 140 members in my golf club.

Sexy putter man! Good luck!

Good lookin' out. Thanks!

Are the T E E fairway woods worth the money? I was looking at them at the golf store this weekend. Never really considered them before, but I noticed the XCG5 was on the Golf Digest Hot List with a gold rating, and since Im in the market for a new 3 wood, its got my consideration now. Anyone play one? What did you switch from before you got your TEE?
-
WTF is that!?!? Yuck!! To the OP: I would suggest looking into a PING K15. I dont play one myself, but I know a couple guys who have it. Not necessarily because they need it, but more because they're lazy. Haha. Not saying everyone who uses it is lazy, just that its made to be easy and forgiving. The K15 is PING's extra forgiving, super game improvement, beginner line.

Srixon Trispeed TOUR… Srixon AD333… -
I thought the i20 did not have an open face like its predessor the i15 did? I was told by the guy at the local golf store that the new i20 model was not a fade bias club design. I already play a fade, so a fade bias designed club may not be best for me. Turns a 15 yd. fade into a 30 yard slice sometimes.

Sweet! I look forward to reading it!

What's the Deal With OBAN Shafts???
SVTGolfer replied to SVTGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
No I didnt. What do you know about them? -
Im contemplating the PING i20 myself now… I played the G15 for a while, and then went to the Titleist 910D2, but after hitting that i20, Im really thinking about making the switch. That i20 is badass!! And I dont like the TFC shafts personally. Im either going to go with a Project X, or put the Aldila RIP alpha ive been putting in everything else. I cant decide. But the Project X is not a "made for" so its definitely better than a TFC shaft.
-
Today I went to the local golf shop and I was messin' around with some drivers & 3 woods. And although I really like my Titleist 910 D2 driver, Im a bit of a club *****, and I was thinking about some of the newer stuff. I tried the new Ping i20 and the new Nike VR_S. That PING i20 is badass!! and I do like the Project X shaft option. And the new Nike VR-S is also badass! Ive not been a Nike club fan until now. That ball comes off the new Nike face HOT!! You can really feel it pop off the face of that driver. While looking around in the used bin there was a Nike VR_S with an OBAN 04 flex shaft (stiff). Honestly, I dont know anything about the Oban shafts, but this one felt really good. Ive heard them mentioned, but I never really paid any attention to them. As of right now all I know is they are somewhat popular on tour and they cost a lot. Can anyone explain why they are popular on tour and so expensive? Haha Basically Im not sure if I want to continue putting the Aldila RIP alpha in everything I buy, or if I want to move to a Project X or possibly an Oban. This pertains to my driver and 3 wood specifically. And I really need a new 3 wood the most. I dont need to switch, Im just curious… But whatever I get its gotta be low spin, mid to low launch. I know a lot of people like the Fubuki shafts, and hell they are on just about everything as a stock option these days, but im not really a fan, especially the "made for" models. Interested to hear some opinions…

NXT tour or Bridgeston B330 RX or e6?
SVTGolfer replied to Birdman2's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Thats the one I most recently tried. I got a 2 ball trial box at the golf show. Tried it… hated it! -
Share Your Personal Course Pictures
SVTGolfer replied to KingG's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Most of these are from my iPhone camera (so not so good). Strawberry Farms, Irvine, Ca Champions Club at the Retreat, Corona, Ca (what you cannot tell from the picture is that there is a huge lake right in front of this par 3 green. That blue spot is all of the water that you can see, the rest is covered by some green algae lookin gunk. First time i'd ever seen it like this. Its a tough hole.) Eagle Glen, Corona, Ca Glen Ivy (Formerly Trilogy), Corona, Ca (Tee box on 18th hole. The green is on the opposite side of the lake. Fun hole!) Monarch Beach, Dana Point, Ca This was taken with my real camera (Canon DSLR): The Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV (18th green) I have a bunch more pictures of several other So Cal golf courses, but I cant find them right now. Cool thread btw!! -
That's purely a "distance" ball. I find those older Nike balls to be garbage. If you want any sort of green side control with them, good luck! If you've got a high handicap you won't be able to tell the difference anyways, So just play them till you run out.
