Hello all. I am creating a Christmas list and I am in need of a new 56 degree wedge. I am thinking of trying something new and I have seen adds and many great reviews on these two "smaller" companies. I don't think Scratch is that small, but I haven't heard of Fourteen before. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had experience with either of these wedges. Price is not a major issue, but preferbly something around $100. I don't need any customization, just a clean looking wedge with some badass grooves, and about 10* or more of bounce Thanks for all replies. Happy holidays. -Whitey

Are shorter putters better?
relentlesswhitey replied to q7w's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would agree 100%. I had a scotty cut down to 32.5 inches, because I feel when my hands fall down to a comfortable position, thats where I want the end of my putter to be. A shorter putter will cut weight, so I reccommend lead tape if you find it too light, but I think shorter putter makes medium to short length putts much easier and long length lags more accurate. If all else fails and I can't sink any, I go to a 31 inch Odyssey that always works. Best of luck. -
Okay, okay I know I just created a new thread on the 907D2, but Iv'e got another one for you!!!! the new(er) 909D3. I like the idea of a 440cc clubhead, just because there are times 460 just looks a little too big. Everyone told me that the 907 wasn't too successful partially due to the high spin rate, and that was completely obvious to me, as I would carry a drive 264 and the total distance would be 267 . Anyways I hit the D3 a couple times, and I got a medium trajectory, which I like, and actually got some roll, which I also like. I figured that I must spin the ball alot (hence the 3 yard roll with the 907), and that I 909D3 might provide a little more distance on the ground for me. (comfortable swingspeed= 98-99. 600 yard swingspeed= about 104) I'm still young (14) and have some growing to do (I HOPE), so I think the low spin driver will suit me well. I currently use 9*iMix FT-9 w/ Graf. ProLaunch Blue 65R, and IMO I would rate it a mid spin mid launch driver. Does anyone own/have experience with the 909D3? Reccommend Voodoo over Diamana (would go stiff. i like diamana never hit voodoo) Thanks for replies. happy holidays.

Titleist 907D2
relentlesswhitey replied to relentlesswhitey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yes you must be correct, I think I was mixing the 907 for the 905. Anyways, I hit the 907D2 with a Diamana Blueboard today, and it was really nice, and I was hitting it 10 yards farther than my FT-9, i think due to the reg vs. stiff shaft. I really liked it, and it was only $87, and it had some mild chatter, but nothing affecting the performance. I also hit the 910 today, and that thing was just amazing. It was a 9.5 D3 with the RIP stiff, but it wasn't any longer than the 907 that I compared it to. I personally, enjoyed the 907, and for $87, why not right? -
I second. These wedges are amazing. Spin is incredible with my 60*.. I've had it for a year and can still spin back a 30 yard shot 3 feet or so. Anyways, they are heavy compared to my Vokey and Z TP, so maybe they will fit you perfectly. Definately try them out. Mack Daddy grooves are stoooopid.

Anyone have any experience with this driver, or a thorough review? Looks really nice at adress, and they are cheap as all get out on eBay. I don't ever recall hitting one, but have heard from people that still think this is Titleist's best driver ever produced.....? I think I would want a 9.5 stiff. Thanks for all replies.

I recently recieved some 710 AP2's (3-PW) from my dad, and after 2 weeks, they are frickin amazing. Theyve got stock S300's in them, and they are so solid. I can work the ball easily from either direction. They look similar to blades, but play much more forgiving, and I would reccommend them to mid-low handicappers. My coach bent some clubs 2-5 degrees flat, which scared me a lot, but he was amazed how "jacked-up" the lie angles were. Anyway's, they are customized to fit my swing, and they are sick.

Anyone have experience with this driver? I hit a 9.5 with the stock stiff and it was deadly. I'm intersted to see what you think.

Fairway Wood Shaft Help
relentlesswhitey replied to relentlesswhitey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thank you everyone for the posts. I was looking up Graffalloy Pro Launch Red's on eBay and I can get one here shipped for 24$, and that is a great deal in my mind. I was wondering if there is any other pieces that I need to buy for my coach to install it on my club (Burner 18* 5 wood), or can I just hand him the shaft and pay for the service? Oh and what is the Ben Sayer deal with these shafts???? Is this better/worse than a different Pro Launch Red??? Thanks. -
Fairway Wood Shaft Help
relentlesswhitey replied to relentlesswhitey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like the immediate two shafts I should look into are the Graffaloy Pro Launch Red and the UST Proforce V2 shafts. I have the Pro Launch Blue on my driver, and I like the characteristics of it, so I'm going to put the Graffaloy Pro Launch Red #1 on my list, without hitting either shafts. I have seen many fairway woods with the V2 shaft so I'm guessing it is a nice piece. I will talk to my coach tommorow about it, and post what he says. I'm eager to be able to go after a FW without it sailing wherever it wants. Any other shafts I should put on my list??? Any immediate differences between the Graffaloy Pro Launch Red and the UST Proforce V2 shafts?? (I would go with a stiff shaft.) -
wedge loft choices
relentlesswhitey replied to sasquatcho69's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
wow ive never heard anyone hit a 64 over 50 yards. sure didnt think that was possible. a 58 is about as lofted as you should go IMO. you can always play it up in your stance and work with 75%, 50%, 25% swings. But maybe you can hit a 64 that long and need it. play the clubs that you need and that make sense to you. -

Scotty "Del Mar" or Oddyssey Tour Series #9
relentlesswhitey replied to JakeC's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would go with the Odyssey as I think they make nice mallet putters. I like the black finish better than the gold, and I think the Del Mar is a little bit chunkier than the Odyssey. I had a White Ice #9 and I loved the shape of the head and the flow of the neck. Truth is, you can't go wrong with either one. I would vote for the Odyssey. -

Fairway Wood Shaft Help
relentlesswhitey replied to relentlesswhitey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Alright well I don't ever use my 5 wood off of the tee. I don't use it for getting home on par 5's, just on long par 4's. I play at Torrey Pines, which is usually pretty firm and you get good roll. I was thinking asking people to reccommend a low trajectory because I don't carry a 3 wood, and I could use a little bit more distance, and I hit my 5 wood waayyyy up in the air. I carry 14 clubs, so I don't wish to pick up a 3 wood, and I like the head on the '07 Burner, so I thought I would just get a shaft upgrade. Also, the current shaft on my 5 wood is 50 grams, but it was cut down so I'm sure it is much lighter. It is way to light and I would like a heavier shaft. Thanks for your response. It's appreciated. -
Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my shaft in my '07 Burner 5-Wood (18*). I am a junior and I bought it about a year ago with the stock senior shaft and cut it down about an inch and a half. I have since grown and became a 2 hcap, and need to upgrade to a stiff shaft. I am posting to ask if anyone could reccommend a stiff shaft that produces lower ball flight and low-mid spin. I've never done this before, but I only want to spend about 80$. I would love a high quality shaft that I can use for a long time. Any suggestions??? And BTW I would have my coach do it and he gives me 15% off everything and knows what he is doing. Thanks for all responses.

That is the sexiest looking back possible to achieve. Maaayybbbeeeee a blade putter though ;) -
I like the original burner woods. If you like the hybrid, I think you will enjoy the woods aswell. I would also look into the TP model if you want more accuracy and playability. I have no complaints with my 5 wood, just that I need a shaft upgrade. On a sidenote I also really liked the R9 fairway woods. Let us know what you choose!

i agree. I made a dramatic switch, as i went from senior graphite shafts with the Burner XD irons that play about a club and a half strong, so i lost a lot of distance, which i understand, and gained tons more accuracy. I think it will take me a little bit to get used to going after my irons, but i completely agree that when you go at these with a harder swing, you get better results. I am so stoked with these irons.
-
I just played my first round with my new 710 AP2's today aswell. I played the front nine at Torrey Pines North, and the first time I ever got to hit an iron was on hole #4, where I landed my 6 iron 3 inches to the left of the cup, and ran it out about 6 feet. These irons are amazing and feel like cutting butter when you hit one flush. The V-Grooves are very different out of the rough though, but the club still feels great when you take a full cut at it. Ended up shooting 37 (+1) with a double, which is really weak. I am so happy with my clubs I can't wait until tommorow when I get to play with them again! Cheers!

What ball do you use
relentlesswhitey replied to aca247's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I am back to the Titleist Pro V1's. I was with the Pentas for a while but they flew a little too low and didn't stop as much as the V1's. I guess I'm just a Pro V1 man.. -
You were probably getting 10 yards more because of the stronger loft on the I15's. 7 Iron Lofts: Ping I15: 33* Titleist AP2: 35* I hope that you took into account how the two irons felt side-by-side. You shouldn't go off of pure distance, as lofts can be corrupt. I hope that you are enjoying your I15's and that they provide confidence and great shots. Best of luck man.
