  1. My wife is home and doing good. We found out about some other issues with her health and are now dealing with them. It is doubtful that we will ever have children again, but we are actively seeking to adopt. Something bad happened, but I know good will come out of it. I appreciate everyone's kind words and prayers. If I am ever in your area, we can play a round on me. Thanks again! You guys are great!
  2. I need to vent a little, and dont really have any family to talk to about this. My wife and I have a beautiful 3 year old girl. She is my heart and soul. We have been trying for another baby for about a year. Well, we have had three miscarriages. My wife is in our home own in South GA visiting our family. We just found out about a month ago that she was pregnant again. She calls me today crying her eyes out and tells me she is on the way to the hospital after seeing her doctor. The baby never left her tubes and dropped into her uterus. It grew until it busted her ovary tube and now she is in surgery while I am 600 miles away. I feel so helpless right now. I dont know what I am looking for in writing this, I just needed to get it out. If you believe in God, please pray for her. Each miscarriage has taken a piece of her heart with it, and I am worried about her mentally. It hurts me too, each time it has hurt. I feel blessed to have such a strong wife and a loving little girl. I just know that she is tired of the heartbreak. Her eyes dont shine like they used to. I dont know what to do to make any of this better. It breaks my heart to know think about the pain she is in. She blames herself. What do I do? I am lost. Please pray for us.
  3. Putter...yea. The one club I neglect to practice as much as I should. Thankfully, the golf gods have smiled upon thy putting stroke as of late. It wont be long and Ill be cursing that little club that kills. Good advice sir, I'm going to take it myself and hit the practice green in the AM.
  4. Nerves. Its times like that where I go back to the basics, and play a round with an old golf buddy who has watched you lay several times before. Maybe he or she can see a difference in what you are doing. Its hard to say based on your post what the problem is, unless you are just trying to kill the ball everytime thinking about the tourney. Relax...keep your mouth open during your swing, and DONT lock your arms and grip tight.
  5. Technical Services Rep. for a large ready mix concrete company and aggregate producer. Basically, I get paid for my opinion. Not a bad gig, I get to play golf with customers and the bosses. I also view this at work.
  6. Nice hole, and round!!
  7. Aim. I have pretty good ball striking consistancy latley, so aiming my shots has been a priority, and with decent results. I naturally aimed more right than I should. Latley I have been finding a piece of grass, divot, broken tee, or something that stands out a few feet in front of the ball that lines up with my target. I then aim my clubface square with that, and check to see if my shoulders are paralel with the taget down the fairway. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, but i have seen good benifits from it with way more bird ops and pars. I would suggest this to anyone struggling to get the ball where they want and having trouble lining up with a target 150 yards away.
  8. 365 yard par four at my "home course" (I just moved here not to long ago). It has a slight dogleg left on a links style course, so no trees in sight. I bombed it over a bunker and it rolled down the backside about 40 yards from the green in the fairway. WOW! I was so excited, the rest of my game suffered. I chipped long and 2 putted for par, but oh well, Pros love pars too!
  9. For a slice, I strengthened my grip and left my ball position where you said it was, off the left heel. That made a world of difference for me. I had the same problem with a major slice for a while after the season began, and a change in grip ended up being the fix for me. Turn your left hand more to the right, assuming you're a righty, and keep where your thumbs meet your hand lining up with your right shoulder, set up your normal way, and lean every so slightly to the right and give it a good swing and see what happens. It feels weird at first, but gave me straight and LONG drives pretty consistantly now. I gained over 30 yards because the ball goes straight.
  10. I have played this game for a few years off and on. All I did for a while was practice my drivers, long and mid irons, but not my woods because I just hate them period. Hybrids work for me a lot better. Anyhow, I have come to a point where I can drive a consistent 260-280, and have great consistency with my hybrids and irons, except when I get to my wedges and putting. On a long par 4, 400 yards, I will hit a good drive. If it is a shorter drive of about 250 to 260, I will hit the green with my 9i no problem. Its a full swing, so no issues. If I where to drive it 280 on a short par 4 and leave 70ish yards or so, I will either hit short of the green on my approach, or over because it is not a full swing. This is where I have the most problems as of late. It is hard to judge how to swing on short swing shots. Any help here?
