For the contents of my sig at the rates here in sunny old Blighty, just over £1500 GBP (approx $2400)

Only about 25 rounds this year so far at 16 different courses. Going to add 8 more rounds and 5 courses next week though as I have a week off and will be hitting some of the UK Top 100 courses I have on my list of places to play.

The 53 and 63's replace the 52 and 62's. Seems Mizuno has abandoned the MX entire or at least some it also and replaced it with the JPX 800 pro and JPX 800, the latter being cast and the former forged.

Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 mid-slant here, got it earlier this year and absolutely love everything about it. But its off-the-shelf so nothing special, so maybe after next season I will send it into the custom shop to make it truely mine :) but being in the UK not a particularly cheap proposition so will more likely be a couple more seasons on top of that to justify the time and cost :( Originally I had planned on getting an Odessey but didn't really feel it with any of their range. Before that the last putter I had was an old no brand brass bullseye type putter.

I tend to get complimented by playing partners on the amount of back spin I put onto my wedge shots. What I don't think they always realise is that the spin is really a problem for me and makes anything but short wedge shots hard work because it tends to result in the ball spinning off of the green or worse still out of the air well short of the green if I'm not careful with the swing which is a bit too often for my taste...I'm looking forward to the release of the conforming Mizuno MP T-11 wedges which should help me out a bit I hope.

Haven't holed out from long range before but came very close - I hit a shot from about 220 yards a few weeks back which hit the pin and looks to have rolled down pin and nearly went in but the pin sprang back and popped the ball about 4 feet away - disappointing to see but a very satisfying birdy all the same.

Have a look at the Mizuno MP-T10 in RAW Black Satin while they're still available as they are non-conforming. They rust like crazy on the sole and sides, but the grooves seem to stay pretty clear, at least on mine. Major downside is that unless you clean them well after the rust sets in it can get all over the place which is no fun on shiney chrome clubs or your hands. Mizuno claim that they are higher spinning too so maybe it helps, but that said, it looks like the new MP-T11 conforming wedges won't come in this finish, so maybe it doesn't. To be honest I don't know, but the grooves really spin the ball, a bit too much actually....

ME! I got mine back in April and have loved every shot with them. I got them after a custom fitting session, I was open minded and trying out a few different heads, I got to these and didn't want to stop :).

I wear my Mizzy cap and sunglasses in the summer, and go free flowing the rest of the time, all depends on the temperature and cloud cover.

A good amount of short game practice is essential for effective scoring if you ask me, anyone can learn to hit a ball long and relatively accurate with some practice but how many can drop the ball on the right side of the green from within 150 yards with any degree of success? How often do you see people knocking the ball from one side of the green to another because they lack the finesse to control the shot properly. I know I did it when I started out and I'd say its a much more difficult aspect of the game to learn. I personally spend 75% of my practice time on some of the local short par 3 courses with good quality greens which have holes rarely longer 150 yards. I get to play some proper golf (and not hit balls at the range which gets tedious even with the best of intentions) and I get to work on my accuracy because the greens on the par 3's I play tend to be a fair bit smaller than at a normal course so when you're hitting them you know you're doing well cause they're half the size or less. Best of all the green fees (at least here in London) don't tend to be much more than a couple of buckets of range bricks...sorry balls.

For me the Scotty in my bag was purely down to feel - I must have tried around 20 different putters of all brands over a period of weeks (was originally thinking an Odessey) and it came to down to how I felt standing over the putter and how the putter felt in use. I liked the feel of the steel and face milling over other similar putters from other brands and within the SC range I liked the neck so it made sense to me.

What about the Mizuno MP Fli-Hi's which would fit right in with MP-52's, or for something even more forgiving the MX Fli-Hi's? If you don't want Mizzy's Adam's do some nice hybrids...
