  1. what does everyone mean by 'lag'?
  2. Hey , I'm in springfield also! We played Branson Creek today for the first time, what a great course. Other favorite area course is Hidden Valley... we go to Horton and Payne, but they aren't too great IMO (I used to work at Payne). Where do you like to play? John
  3. John Daly+Charles Barlkey=Shanks A Million
  4. how do you manage to hit a 3-4 inch divot and still get thru the ground and able to follow through cleanly? I haven't figured that out yet.
  5. actually it might be a down to a 7 after that 75 the other day. rgs John
  6. I know (a lot of) somethings are wrong. What are they? thanks John
  7. I seem to notice so many people scrambling when I'm on the course. My friends and I always play stroke play, we want to see our actual scores, regardless if we shoot 75 or 92 Even a lot of tournament listings I see posted are scrambles. I really like to hit my own shots, I feel like I'm playing real golf, when I'm scrambling I find it less fun/rewarding/interesting. I hit a medicore shot and I don't have to hit a tough rescue or escape shot because my partner hit the fairway? Lame. What do you guys think? John
  8. I think the people who have $125k sitting around for an initiation fee aren't feeling the economic struggles very much...
  9. Congrats! My one (and only) eagle was on a medium length par 5 and I had 100 out and hit a pitching wedge and sank it. I wonder what % of eagles are NOT putts?
  10. I understand what you guys are saying, but I would counter to say that a pga player would never be hitting off the dirt in between clumps of grass in the fairway, so why should I?
  11. I know a lot of people frown upon this. Of course, fluffing the ball even when in a fairly good lie is wacky. However, where do we draw the line? What about in a bad patch of fairway where the ball is on the dirt between two clumps of grass? do we play that as it lies or put it on the clump of grass? what do the purists think? John
  12. People who like to have nice clubs.
  13. potential, keep at it!
  14. I wasn't helped much by 'turn the hands over' either, I think that masks a swing flaw instead of corrects it.
  15. I seem to remember phil teeing off from 190 with his 9 a couple weeks ago..
