For shaping shots, does the type of grip you have (strong v. weak) have any effect on the tendency of shot shape? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's easier to draw the ball when I move my grip strong.

It's funny that you tell this story. Almost the exact same thing happened to me. I brought my new driver with me to the range and I let my friend try it out. On his backswing, the driver head smacks my irons. I guess I didn't realize how far outside he brings the club. So, at this point the club has a slight dent and paint chip towards the toe. It's pretty minor in the whole scheme of things, but stuff like that bothers me. I took the club to a local golf shop in my area. The repair man suggested auto paint, clear coat, and some sand paper. I ended up having him do it and he charged me $10. It doesn't look perfect, but I guess it's better than before. There's still an indentation, but I just deal with it.

I would just love if I could use a fairway to practice on. That's awesome man, I gotta look into getting to Australia later in life. As a poor college student, I can't afford to join any clubs yet. I guess Shindig and I are going to have to do some hunting. I'll let you know if I find anything also.

That's the only problem with the surveyor wheel idea. I figure there aren't too many places that are wide open and unpopulated. The only thing that comes to mind is a public park, but I don't think people would take too kindly to that.

I'm trying to figure out what is the expected distance gap between irons on full swings. Recently, I've found that my 3, 4, and 5 irons are going basically the same distance. It's probably because I'm not striking them well, but I was just wondering what if there is a general rule with distance gaps between all irons. Thanks.
