You guys are the best. Its so difficult to play consistently when your compression is poor. I dont know why hitting down on the ball is so hard for me...but im workin on it!

Grew up on a private club with my parents house on the 14th hole. Started when i was five playing with my dad and grandfather. I quit for 4 years four and a half years ago and am getting back into it now.

I only cary 13. Used to carry 12. Driver, 18 degree hybrid, 3-pw, gw, sw. Thats it. Just started carrying the gw.

The high drawing hook that i hit half the time from 150 in on par 3s! Always goes right into the $hit. It should be an easy shot...but no...hook it into the crap...just like i have for the last 20 years.

I replaced DCI 962s with Ping G5s. The 962s were more of a players iron and still i can do everything better with the pings fwiw.

It really is all up to tiger. IMHO he has a very athletic move. I think this may be hard to repeat in his 40s. Its really all about his health. He could get hurt in any number of ways...we do. Its too early to call i think. After a bad year like this i think its apparent the tiger factor is gone...and that was the most critical factor to his success imho. The young guns whom we have not seen the best of WANT tiger. Woods has never faced this, as everyone was intimidated by him in the past. Will he do it? I hope not, but think so...if that makes any sense at all...

I got measured. I hit my 7 iron 165 with no wind leval ground. 8 goes 150. Clubhead speed with driver is just at 100mph. I use a stiff...driver through wedge. I play a higher ball so i dont need help getting it up. With ping i like their zz65 shaft. Dynamic Gold is also a fav. of mine with its higher flex point.

I would find a new club if the one i were a member at started allowing the public. Keep in mind...im not a member of a c.c. I grew up a member and my parents are members of one...but i am not. I can guarantee i will be however just as soon as i can afford it. Around me the public courses are full of low lives that do not rake traps, do not fix ball marks, do not fix divots, get drunk and crash carts, hit into other groups, and tear up the greens. I have never seen this behavior at a private club on that scale. Ill take a well maintained course, golfers with proper etiquette, and a generally pleasant atmosphere any day of the week. It is very frustrating for any serious golfer to deal with the "public" on the munis in my area. That being said...im off to my local muni to battle the drunks!

the wraps always last the longest with the winns or tour velvets wearing quickly. Try tacki mac wraps or lamkin wraps...last forever. Have some that are 10 years old.

I always carried a 2 iron. They were useful off the tee on tight par fours and for me not any harder to hit than a 3 iron from the fairway. Nobody makes them anymore...i guess hybrids killed them off.

I decided to do a little test in regards to a balls impact on score. I hear a ton of people (including myself) dogging top flites and pinnacles. I decided to play a couple of rounds with a the cheapest i could get. Happened to be a 15 pack of Top Flite XL distance balls. I played two 18 hole rounds with them and honestly my score didnt suffer at all. They felt harder and didnt spin as much, but not as bad as one might think. Short and mid irons checked and rolled maybe 3 or 4 feet. Drives really didn't go longer and accuracy was typical for me. All in all i was surprised. I have always liked some of the higher end top flites but never the distance ultra cheep balls. I guess ill stop throwing them into the woods when i find them. I honestly dont think they negatively impacted my score at all. Thoughts?

I have a newer set of Ping G5 irons. I like them and hit them well. I recently hit some Ping ISI irons and also hit them fairly well. I like the thinner sole and top line of the isi...at least from a visual standpoint. If anyone has any experience with both of these sets, what would you think about me switching to the older ISI's? Are the G5s that much more forgiving and easier to hit? I can trade my G5s strait up for the ISI's

If there is a 15 to 20 shot difference...im going to wager a guess and say your not turning those scores in for your hdcp. You should. As far as the problem...see a pga pro. I have played TPC courses and not shot 15 shots over my index. Something doesn't add up. Keep in mind...i suck and openly admit it.

If your talking about TPC Dearborn...i wouldn't count on it...ist %85 corporate. If it goes that way...it would become like every other muni in our area. Full of low lifes with pock marked greens and slow play. Lets hope it stay exclusive. Look at everything else in S.E Michigan that public accessible. Its unsafe.

I dont have any emotional attachment to any of my clubs. Esp. since i realized that there were company's that re-finished metal woods, forged irons, and cast irons. Use them till there no longer usable than get them rebuilt. Half the cost of re buying and you never have to get used to new crap. People wonder how i have a mint set of staff tour blades and macgregor VIPS from the 70s for decoration...

Everyone i play with cheats anyway. Refund any money won, correct the score for hdcp purposes and learn from it. I hear ambion is good for golfers that need sleep! Lol...i kill myself. Worry not my friend. The fact that your upset speaks volumes of your character.

and people say that i can be holier than thou... I understand...i have been there. Grind it out...earn the next step. You will be fine...and better for it. Some emotion is good for your game.
