This is a good point. I guess it doesn’t have to be as long as I’m comparing the two in similar situations. I have always had an uncomfortable swing on mats for some reason. Might be a mental block whereas outside I feel “freer”.

Mainly the question was: How much negative effect does hitting in a bay vs. in a real life setting push down the distances? Maybe none - to your point. Yeah, I will take mine to a fitting to compare definitely. The Qi10 was flying an average of 270 and I the last I was on trackman with my current driver it was at 273, despite being so old. So I'm guessing it is a myriad of issues where I just need to get on a trackman outside to see.

I'm trying out some new drivers to replace my 10 year old gamer. I hit the ball pretty far and with a R11S, I am looking for something newer to see if there is a noticeable difference in distance. I hit a few today with the new Qi10 and it seemed like it was similar (or even less) than my current driver. How much could I attribute that to (1) hitting off mats and rubber tees, (2) swinging the club 5 times and that is it, and (3) having a stiff shaft (non-fitted XS) rather than a fitted club. Just trying to see if I should go to a fitter to get fit into a driver to display accurate numbers (I definitely will) or if it would only bump up by 10 yards or so it not being something to worry about.

Played the same course as yesterday today. 6,860 yards, 72.6. Scored better today. Shot a 37-38 for a 75 and did something I don't recall ever having done before. The par 5's run 522-646-523-557 and I birdied (or better) all of them. They only reason I turned in a respectable round was because I played them -5. I only hit one fairway on the front 9 and then hit 4 on the back. Only hit 9 greens today. I didn't hit the ball well at all today, but putted pretty decently. Just was in a weird swing funk. 8 bogies, 6 pars, 3 birdies, and an eagle.

39-39 today for a 78. 6860 yards, 72.6 rating I hit 12 greens but couldn't get a putt to drop. That was frustrating. Hit in the fescue on 9 and 15 for doubles and other than that played well with 14 pars, 2 bogeys, and those two doubles.

Certainly no complaints from me on my end! It's an Aussie.

39-35 today for a 74. Short course - 6200ish with a 68.9 rating. Winds sustained at 20 MPH with gusts to 35. Hit a PW (150 club) on a short Par 3 of 115 and didn’t even get to the hole with a full flighted swing lol. Played well on the back and was happy overall with the round with the wind.

39-35 today for a +2 (74) on a 72.6/129. Struggled over the first few holes as I bogeyed five straight to start. Wasn't even striking the ball bad - just couldn't hit a green and didn't hit good chips + one penalty. Then I went -3 over the next 6 to save the round and then parred the last 7. Golf is fun.

79 today. Didn't feel like I played bad but didn't feel like I played well either. Couldn't get any of my birdie looks to go down besides one when I chipped to a foot after driving it greenside.

Shot an 81 at Twin Bridges in Danville, Indiana. 75.0/137 rating at 7,071 yards Started out very bad on the front with a double on 12 and a triple on 14. Greens are very tough and I 3-putted four times on the front (11,12,13,16). However, finally started hitting the ball on the back and shot 37, parred the last 8 holes. 44/37 - no birdies.

74 @ Toad Valley in Iowa. 69.5/115 @ 6221 yards First round of the year for me.
