  1. Last post didn't get any traction, but I am back at the start of a new golf season in the Midwest. Driver has been better of late, I started to tee the ball higher and tilt away from the target slightly at address, which have worked as a sort of band-aid. Looking to improve my overall swing mechanics to improve all full swing shots. Below are 2 DTL and FO views of 7-irons, hitting Birdieballs at the local park. My miss directionally is still a pull-hook/pull-draw, my mishits are almost exclusively be toe-side. Looking for assistance with determining a top priority piece to practice slowly and repeatedly to start.
  2. I've been Playing Golf for: 12 years My average score is: 88.8 My typical ball flight is: Push-draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Pull-hook, thin I have played golf for a while but never seriously analyzed my swing faults - had a lesson to start the season where I was instructed to work on reducing lateral head movement. I have not had too much success with permanently fixing that and continue to work at it - ultimately I know that repeated lessons and handling these issues more systematically is the long-term solution. However, in the meantime with my limited time to play and practice (and funds) I am trying to make golf more fun for myself. The number one cause of frustration and lost strokes currently is my off-the-tee play. I play well relative to an average bogey golfer in the iron game, chipping, and putting. In the short-term, I am looking for something to work on to reduce the pull-hook miss off-the-tee. I attached driver swings since it is the club giving me headaches. Videos:
  3. @Sacm3bill How do you know? haha @KEEPITSIMPLE I think I understand what you're saying.. I might hit the range today so I'll try it there... feels a little awkward but I'm guessing that's how it's "supposed" to feel at first. After (hopefully) hitting the range and playing a late 18 today, I'll let you guys know how it's going and work on getting up a couple videos from DTL and face-on angles with the 7i and the Driver.
  4. Muggs, I tried your advice of slowing down the backswing and it worked great! I went in my front yard and hit a few practice balls and I saw an immediate difference in how my swing felt and in my ball flight. Crossing my fingers and hoping it works the next time I hit the course! I'm working on getting a video camera set up to get some live shots and a face-on angle. Stay tuned!
  5. My usual misses are dead pulls off the tee and push-fades with the irons. I'll try slowing my backswing down, now that you mention it I do seem to be rushing back a bit.
  6. Took a few down-the line swings off my laptop webcam.. I understand it's not of the best quality and that my swing probably isn't 100% natural as I'm not striking the ground at impact, but it's the best I can do as there's too much glare on the webcam lens outdoors and the only place with room in the house is on hardwood. Comments appreciated.. and I wrote that I'm an 18 handicap.. honestly I might be anywhere from a 15 to a 21- I usually shoot just a hair better than bogey golf but I play at relatively easy courses and don't have an official handicap. EDIT: Also you can ignore the background noise.. it's my little sister watching the Disney Channel haha
  7. 88 from the blues at Indian Boundary.. was not striking the ball well but was scrambling a lot
  8. Best ball skins game with buddies, the 12th hole, a 6-skinner, I was about 30 feet from the pin on the fringe in a must make spot putting for birdie (my teammate had duffed a few so he wasn't helping the cause, and the other team had a 4-footer for bird) and I drained it as it worked right to left down the hill. The pressure got to the other guy and he missed his 4 footer on the left edge, earning my teammate and I a nice score.
  9. I would say that Tiger would probably do better if they matched up against one another during their primes, due to being more physically fit and being a more mechanically sound golfer.
  10. I am a student at the University of Illinois in Champaign
