  1. Congrats to David! Good format Under the pressure both played well tee to green, David good with 2nd shots, Kent good with chipping. HOWEVER, putting was horrendous, no one seemed to make a putt to win of any length (tap ins excluded). In a 36 hole medal play I'd say Kent has better game hits it longer, good around greens. David seems short off tee, good luck at Zurich, he'll need it. Anyone hear Justin say "canadian cupcake" when David was hitting??
  2. Kent knows he's going to lose? I'm betting Kent beats David, by the body language, as David goes over to Kent to shake his hand, congratulating Kent on his win(???), well we'll see.
  3. Yes, looks like Carl takes on Kent, they're spinning a big upset in the ads. My $.02: white vs black guy in final, they know how to draw viewers, and it's likely to include Carl, the ONLY guy who's positive and has personality. Though you can't say Carl's swing is in league w Furyk, that's nutty. Furyk has kooky Miller Barber back swing but he's in perfect position at impact, and I can't say that about Carl whose upper body is moving almost as fast as his arms at impact.
  4. Guys, BBIW is an EXHIBITION, not to be confused with a real golf competition. And truthfully, these guys don't have much personality to offset the mediocre golf. Maybe some side show events: 50yd dash (showcase Carl), cooking (David), shoveling manure (Justin), guitar solos (John), obstacle course under live fire (Oren and Russ). Or maybe Tim Abbot can relate his golf experience, looks like he should be hosting the UK version of how to improve a wornan's wardrobe show.
  5. Kent can play, he broke most of the glass in an early episode, Will was a big beneficiary, and Will is definitely untested. Kent hit excellent shots last evening. Both Carl & Will have crappy swings, but Carl has a brain on top, could carry him into a final episode vs. Kent. Dave is good player but he can't beat Kent (noticed that he's not very long off the tee.) Let's face it, the only guy in the bunch who should ever step on the first tee at a PGA Tour event is Kent. Though I must admit, Carl would be fun to watch................
  6. Problem is it's a exhibition, mainly short game stuff. I am really enjoying the show, BUT, I simply can't believe the PGA Tour would allow the winner of this to get a spot in the Zurich field. The border line tour players with cards ought to be irate. I mean, Carl and Will may win lot's of big break dough, but they don't belong on any PGA Tour, I know of. Kent, I'll give you can grind out 36 holes in a PGA tour event and at least shoot even par. The rest, forget it. I say give em their winnings, Adams tour bag and "endorsement contract", Dick's shopping spree, a nite with a waitress @ IW, whatever, and go on home.
  7. Kent should have easy time, Will and Carl don't have the game (unless all future events are from less than 100 yards from the green, they simply can't get close under pressure), I'm guessing they've gotten most of their points from team competition (breaking glass which Kent singlehandedly won?) likely there for diversity. Love Shank but he's not straight and not as good under pressure as I first thought. David shows some play under pressue ability. Likely scenario, the producers will have Will & Carl go head to head, then Kent vs. Will in final. It's all about ratings. When will there be a fight (verbal or otherwise)?
  8. This last one is excellent, just need to concentrate looking at a point in front of you about waist high. I tried 3-4 reps on each foot and found instant relief for achy hips, lower back and legs after golf yesterday. Great stuff!
  9. These are good tips, I currently do yoga, will try to incorporate some of these, I like the 1 leg squats, lunges.
  10. I'm now 53, and after a 10 year layoff, am back in game. Shooting in high 80's at present, I was a 7-10 handicap back in the day. I'm 6'2" and now utilize a Redman style swing which is working well for the most part, using my hips (or center) to control the back and down swing, soft grip, stand erect and close to ball, and makie a good full 90* turn on backwsing (my grip is 2-3 knuckles, not strong). On good swings the ball is hit very solidly with a high draw, with weight fully on left side and in balance at finish. My bad swings (upper body sway on downswing) result in heel hits with woods/hybrids (pull or hooks), and thin iron shots(especially the short irons). Would appreciate feedback from anyone using this type of rotational swing, and anyone with balance / anti sway drills. Thanks in advance.
  11. "Come back little Sheba" is an old movie, that's what Shank is referring too. Question: Who is a professional in the group? Who is a PGA qualified pro? The winner, when accepting the $$, prizes, whatever, loses his amateur standing I would guess, unless he's already a pro? Currently rooting for Carl (the tears for Shank were too much though), Oren the hustler, the little Canadian. Watch out for John the guitar player, he's the quiet dude, with no colorful past, bet he wins. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044509/
  12. Anyone bought the 2006 Apex plus or Apex Edge irons from Golfsmith? Are they used and what condition are they in? How do you like them? Thanks in advance.
  13. last time out was a horror show, the 2 guys I was playing with had to quit after 9 and go to work. I played the last 9 hitting just irons: 3 iron off tee usually, it's a good thing to try for practice.
  14. it's a different game, but Jack in his prime is the best, lucky to see him at Baltusrol in 80.
