  1. Mizuno MX 25's or the Callaway X-20's
  2. You're probably right. I've played the TMR7's 3 x's and I've shot an 83,84 & 85. I'm very happy with results like that. I still want to keep a set of players/blades irons so I can grow in to. That's my problem... which one's will be the best choice, the MP 60's or the X-forged?
  3. Well, the next time you see them, you should try on a pair. Remember to get 1-size larger..... David.
  4. I'd have to agree with "thrash13". The Taylor Made line is one of the few, but most equipped whole product Co's out there that can produce everything, for all level of players. From drivers to ballz. #2 Titleist; but the irons are notorious for being hard to hit. #3 Callaway; but just until 3/07 they didn't have a players club "X-FORGED". This is obviously only my opinion.
  5. The response you received from both Clay and I might be considered a lit'l defensive, but my response was actually for 2-reasons; I always play "in the real world/by the rules" and in response to your spokesperson "Holmgirl15". She thought I was bashing your handicap.... I was there my self, I wouldn't do that. IT'S ALL GOOD....
  6. I like Dana Quigley. He's an old golf pro that got the opportunity to play pro and has taken the most advantage of it he could and he shares his extreme gratitude every chance he can....
  7. What Irons Do I Choose: 1) Mizuno MP 60's 2) Taylor Made R7 TP's 3) Callaway X-Forged
  8. What Irons Do I Choose: 1) Mizuno MP 60's 2) Taylor Made R7 TP's 3) Callaway X-Forged
  9. They're great clubs and as you can probably tell by my other posts, I have a new set of the T/M R7 TP's and I just won a set of the new Cally X-forged, with Project X shafts. The problem I have is I'm keeping the R7 TP's, but I can't decide whether I want the Cally X-forged or the Mizuno MP 60's? HELP........
  10. I'm actually keeping the R7 TP's, but I'm torn between the Cally X-Forged and the Mizuno MP 60's? I have a set of the new Cally X-Forged, I just don't want to hit them until I can decide whether I want those or the MP 60's. Any suggestions or opinion on those two sets?
  11. I noticed that you're a club fitter/maker. I'd like to know what you thought would be a longer iron; The Mizuno MP 60 W/S300, T/M R7 TP's W/S300 or the new Callaway X-forged W/Project X's. I'm sure I could figure it out by hitting them, but I'm fortunate enough to have 2 of the 3 sets and I'm trying to hold on to the two that would best suit me. I don't want to have to hit them, so I can use them to trade if need be. Thanks
  12. You're listed as a 10-handicaper? I think they're actually better for you as a 5-15 handicaper, if you have aspirations to get better. They'll actually let you know when you hit one well or not. But, regardless to your choice of irons, I think you've made a good choice with the T/M's. They put out an excellent product as does most of the big guys. If they feel good in your hands and you hit them well, then good for you. Keep em' in the short grass...
  13. NO. But I did demo a 6I into the net in Lauderdale, FL and didn't seem to have a problem with it. I've also been playing the S300's. What differences should I look for in those Project X shaft's? I heard they were the S--T?
  14. I don't know if you read my earlier reply or not, but I just played a tourney this weekend and won a set of the new Callaway X-Forged.... What to do now?
  15. Now I'm faced with another decision. I just won a set of Callaway X-forged at a tournament and I now have two of the newest - hotest sets out? I'm not sure if I want to trade a set for the MP 60's or just keep them both, and if I keep them both, which ones are better?
  16. Unfortunately you have the same problem that took me more than a month to decide. I think you have 3-GREAt clubs to choose from, amoung many others out there. The only advise I have for you, considering you couldn't go wrong with either of them, is to go back and hit the 3-different clubs again. Whichever feels best in your hands / swing, buy them and leave the store until they come in with your specs! Run..... Or you'll go crazy!
  17. I went through the same thing for about 3-weeks. In fact, I purchased the new Cally X-forged in Lauderdale (beautiful Clubs) I wanted to make them work, but I switched them out for the R7 TP's. A week later they opened up a new Golfsmith in my area, I ad a chance to hit the X-20 Tours and considered changing again, from the R7 TP's to the X-20 Tours......? Then I went out with both sets, the R& TP's & X-20 Tours. The decision was clear, although they're both great clubs, with great feel, the R7 TP's are much more workable and I get the feed back I'm looking for, without a lot of penalty on miss-hits. The 20's are lit'l more forgiving, but I couldn't tell why I miss-hit some shots? IMO the R&'s are a lit'l better club at set-up and workability.
  18. I wasn't talking to you unless you' speak for "bluesman"? .... "there is always a "real world"/"rules" distinction!" Says who?
  19. Taylor Made R7 Tp's: Cast, soft and very workable. Cally X-20 Tour: " " not as workable. Mizuno MP 60's & 32's: Forged, very soft and somewhat forgiving. Adams Or forged: Very soft, workable and forgiving.
  20. Is anyone out there using the 2007 Taylor Made R7 TP irons yet? I'd like your opinion on them and what else you would recommend as an alternative to these irons?
  21. Get over yourself. That wasn't intended to be a bash! Read your own reply before you start casting stones..... "If I'm playing by the rules"? "In the real world"? You want to elaborate on those statements....? In fact, DON"T BOTHER
  22. To be honest with you I don't think that you and I, at 12's & 15's, are going to notice that much f a difference to warrant the cost of these shafts. If you can purchase irons with these shafts already on them, like the Callaway X-20 Tours and X-forged, then it's a bonus, but I think the Dynamic Golds and many others for that matter will suit us fine. You may want another opinion, but I hope that helps.
  23. O.K. so 275.... I just wanted to know how someone that wasn't very ong, like myself, could get down to as low of a handicap as a 1+. My short game is pretty strong and my scrambling saves what lit'l face I have as a 12 handi, but I haven't developed a 200+ yrd green approach yet. Now that could sure come in handy.... Hell hitting it with a 5 wood, anyting regularly, would knock off at least 2-3 strokes.
  24. The "Project X" flighted shafts will rise to the point they're designeds to rise to, flatten out and land very softly. If you're a flat/low ball stiker, then I think you'll really enjoy them and you will greatly benefit.
  25. Smart thinking is what a lot of us are lacking in on the course. Smart and strategic course management is what I could use a major dose of. Where I need help: Mental course management. Thinking paterns. Thank God I have the physical requirements, a decent short game and I strike the ball well..... but I find myself in stupid trouble for not thinking or not being course smart. Any suggestions.... books, tapes, videos?
