  1. Hey, I am looking to upgrade my iron's and am currently using the Titleist 690 CB's from eon's ago. I am a 10 handicap, though last year was a terrible year, and I usually play to about a 7. I was thinking of looking at Titleist, but am open to Mizzuno and others. I have been out of the iron game for so long that I don't know what's good these days. I prefer a thin topline (which usually means no callaways) and would like cavity / muscle back combo. Can't hit a full blade really and don't want a cavity back club designed for a 30 handicapper. Don't get me wrong I need forgiveness but still want workability. Oh and I am okay with getting used, but just want something a little newer. I'd appreciate any thoughts you all might have. Thank you!
  2. I am graduate student and for a class project I am going make a little 5 minute dvd that is aimed at people that don't watch golf on TV. The goal of the project is to compel non-watchers to watch. Do you guys have any suggestions of what I should include? So far, I want to show how technically, mentally, and physically involved a golf swing is. Maybe show those commercials where a person is hitting over a trap and the announcer says something to the extent "think of yourself sitting on a pony, and the golf club as a hose" and then it actually shows those things. (if anyone knows where to get this commercial that would be awesome) Anyway, then I would put something in there about the rivalries, great shots (Tiger in Phoenix hole in one, the chip in), the choke jobs (phil, the u.s. open when retief and cink (i think) missed putts on 18). And then maybe go to a black screen and get the viewer to do some imagery on thousands of people watching, putting for birdie...making it and then hearing a loud birdie roar. Anything else? i think this is quite the challenging endeavor but could be pretty cool. If you can't think of anything specifically for the video can you just answer the following questions: Why do you watch golf on tv? What do you watch for? (skill, shots, excitement...) Okay, I know I am new to the site, but any help would be much abliged. -Eric
  3. Gotta go Tiger. Jack was definitely dominant in his own right, but, as in other sports, Tiger is playing against what I percieve to be stiffer competition (on the whole).
  4. I am in the first year of my PhD at MSU. My PhD will be in Sport Psychology...and I will be teaching and consulting at a University when I am done.
  5. Just moved to East Lansing, Michigan...so I guess my home course would be Forest Akers. http://www.golfmsu.msu.edu/
