I also recorded my best round yet this year, i played 81 at a local club in Norway. My best in the US on the other hand is 83, that was at Moorpark Golf & CC last year.. My average is around 90..

If you exclude the putter, my favourite is the 8i from the fairway or the 5i from the tee... My driving at the moment is way of, so i usually us a 5iron on most par 4 and an 3i on most par 5's from the tee...

10th hole at Sterling Hills, Camarillo: Blasted a drive that went really low, and was really satisfied since i felt it had the opportunity to almost get on the green, its a par4! With my luck it hit the top of the pole that marks the middle of the fairway at 200y mark and ricocheted back to the ladies tee 30 yards ahead of me.... Wasnt to happy! Why do they have a pole in the middle of the fairway in the first place..?

Pelican Hill in Newport Beach is a must in my opinion... Moorpark Golf and CC is also one I would visit if I were you guys.. Excellent courses, that are not too expensive...

I use mine a lot, in thick rough or everything from 110-50y out... Love the wedge shots..

When I played in SoCal i had an average drive around 300y (incl. roll of course), but when I moved back to Norway its way harder to get a long drive, mostly because of the climate and the gras, making it softer, and thereby less roll. The air is also colder and makes the carry shorter as well so I avg about 240m, or about 270y now.. Im 25 years old and 6-2 so my swing speed is pretty high right there... I'm a 18.3 hcp, so the averages I mentioned is only from the drives that I manage to stay in bounds;p....
