Guys, am I the only one who sees what's going on here? The boss is a first class BULLY. It lives on it, its a drug he has to have daily or his life isn't complete. As long as everyone gives in he wins and maintains his status. I never have and never will tolerate a bully in my life be it for sport or for keeps. Jesus Christ you guys grow a fu--ing pair and stand up for what's right. This isn't about the boss playing golf, its about his need to degrade and own people. I'll have none of it, not now, not ever. Many thanks to those of you who offered up some thoughts on the As----- boss and I can assure you all I take no offense to your opinions or thoughts just the opposite I welcome them all. I had a chance to share a few beers with my friend over the holiday. Of course I brought up the playing habits of the AHB. My friend said he does that to everyone he plays with for the first few months until he establishes that he is the better golfer. My friend said his boss truly believes he's the center of the universe with nothing above or equal to him, and his logic extends in aces to the golf course. AHB knows that giving putts to one but not all the players will throw most off their game and counts on it to give him an advantage. Armed with this new intel, I think spring golf will be much more fun. I think I'll start giving myself some 10 and 15 footers, and I can feel my hay fever already beginning to act up on the tees, you know how hard a sneeze is to stop. Since I'm a senior and he's just now 40 I may start hitting half way between the white and the yellow tees. I'm willing to be as small as this narcissistic assh---e wants to be, hell I don't work for the jerk. My friend did say the boss was even worst at work, so I asked why work for the jerk. My best friend and I play together at least two and sometimes three times a week. Lately he has asked his boss to join us, which I don't mind he's a very good golfer. However he has done some things that has really gotten my goat. We had a string of great weather here in Kansas a couple weeks ago so we were able to play four days straight. On the first day during play I hit into the green on three different holes each shot was well within the four foot range, my friend and his boss were notably well outside my ball. I approached the green on the first hole and stood reading my putt waiting for them to make their stroke since they were both away. The boss walked up looked at the lay of all three balls then used his putter to pick up his ball and my friends ball and called it good. They then stood by and watched while I made my putt. I said nothing but was pissed, it happened two more times that round and each of those times I was well within their ball and each time I watched as the boss picked up his and my friends then stood and watched as I putted out. The next day we played the same course again and I made a great approach shot to the green on a par 5, I was 20 feet out from the hole for my birdie putt they were inside my ball with putts of 10 feet and 6 feet. I lined up my putt from behind the ball and began my pre-shot routine. I did not take an extraordinary time in doing so, I took my stance and looked at the hole then down at my ball, looking back to the hole one last time as is my routine I see the boss over his ball pulling the putter back and making his putt. I backed off my putt and waited until both the boss and my friend putted. I then made my putt for birdie and walked off the green. My round wasn't worth a dam after that hole. I shot a 90. The third day we played a local country club the boss is a member of, we were joined by two of his friends also members but really nice guys. The day went OK, after the golf we were invited to the club house for beers. It front of everyone my friends boss told everyone I had a great round because I tee'd my ball up a foot in front of the tee markers at least five times during the round. I was pissed beyond belief and embarrassed as well. I paid for the drinks and left. I didn't show up for the golf on the fourth day and haven't spoke to my friend or the boss guy since. I rant here am I just being a whiner here and acting a baby or did he cross the line on the pick ups and the club house remarks. I think his golf manners need some work and want to call him on it but I don't want to do anything to harm my friends status with his boss. What would you all do if faced with this clown on the course.

New grips and maybe a pair of new shoes, FT DNA's look good and the reviews have been good. I'm adding a Scotty Cameron putter to my bag a Futura X Dual Balance. I've only used this once on the practice green but it feels great and seems to round the ball true. The weather man here in Kansas says Friday is going to be a good day (above freezing anyway) so I'm going to put it to the test for the first time.

So just a couple of months ago the golf world tied and burned at the stake a respected golf official who gave his life bettering the sport of golf. His mortal sin? He used a social media to express his personal opinion regarding statements made by Ian Poulter. What he said was Mr. Poulter whined like a little girl, for this the world of golf and just about every golf analysis and writer harked for his demise which they got in short order. Now Golf Digest has used its shield of freedom of the press to slander and defame a golfer who has given this sport more than any person pass or present. Instead of defending Tiger and owning up to stepping on a social land mine they choose to support their lame employees attempt at journalism. I've already told golf digest to cram my subscription where sun don't shine, I also sent a letter to the editor of the rag expressing my disappointment, but I doubt I will get a reply from either the editor or the subscription dept.

Maybe your right, but getting a birdie on the golf course that doesn't count seem a little bizarre to me.

I was playing my regular course last summer, on the 17th par 4 hole which has a small dog leg left. My tee shot was great right down the middle heading for the slight hill where the dog leg starts, I'm thinking its going to land and roll out about 20 yards over and down the hill towards the green splitting the two fairway bunkers. What I didn't see was two mallard ducks lifting off from the lake on my right. You guessed it I beaned the lead duck right under the left wing about 30 feet in the air with the ball right in the middle of the fairway. The ball bounced off the vandal duck and bounced twice and rolled into the left fairway bunker. A lousy bunker shot left me in the greenside bunker, which led to a lousy escape for a tricky 30 foot down hill putt which of course I missed. Ended up with a double bogey when I thought for sure I was heading for birdy land (guess I did get a birdy) only not the kind I was hoping for.

Just a thought, but maybe Tiger should go back to punching porno stars and anything else that will hold still. He seem to play pretty good when he was humping everything that walks, no wonder he has a bad back.

Good idea, maybe Chamblee can at least teach him the rules of golf.

ALLLLLLL RIGHT, way to go, couldn't have thought up a better defense if I tried. When things go bump in the night my go to gun is a mini 14, with two 30 rounders taped together, the laser sights and search light tucked up under the barrel makes me sleep at night. I back that gun up with a Glock 22 and three defense trained Great Danes one comes in at just over 190 lbs. I'm guessing who ever comes into the house if they can get by them, I'll have plenty of time to set up a little something extra for them. THEHOOK840

A lot of people believe that, remember your not going to get any spread pattern for at least 20 yards, so unless your front room is 60 feet across the group of shot will still be the same size as the barrel. Using long weapon in the dark in confined space requires years of practice and shooting skills, you can't use the shotgun one handed like if you had to use your cell phone. In addition unless it is equip with a light you have to think about that too. The kind of load is important also, bird or hunting loads can be defeated by just normal street clothes such as a couple of shirts and a leather jacket. Defense loads such as 00 and 0 buck shot have limited spread again and loose their ability to penetrate quickly. The heavy hitter or rifled slug is brutal to shoot and can not only endanger your family if you miss but your neighbors as well as they go through many layers of sheet rock. At 40 or 50 yards a shot gun is the best, especially if it has a laser sight and a search light. If someone is hell bent on doing you or your family harm, hiding in the house and grabbing the weapon is a very likely scenario, not to mention getting off an accurate second shot with a pump shot gun again is a skill that takes years to perfect. You said you trust your 9mm for when your on the road, if its good enough there its good enough at home. Look into a laser sight with a search light included, that laser sight really builds the confidence fast when shooting in low light, plus you can keep that pistol in close to control the weapon in case a bad guy wants to use it. If you really want to do some plinking, look up IDPA International Defensive Pistol Association in your area. Everyone in the group will be just like you and they will be some of the best people you will ever meet. They hold monthly shoots were real life scenarios are set up. They will walk you through each stage and give you pointers, some will be very good shooters others just starting but no one looks down on anyone. I assure you that it will be one of the best times of your life meeting new friends and picking up some new skills at the same time. Just being nosey but why the 12 gage for home defense? If this is the case what loads or types of rounds are you using and how many rounds does your scatter gun hold, pump or auto RON

You really have to think what type of shooting will I be doing with this next purchase. If you think it could be defense, then a Smith and Wesson 357 can not be beat, you can shoot 38 wad cutter target rounds which are very reasonable cost wise and then use JHP magnum loads for defense. Any of the Smith wheel guns are excellent, I carried a number of them during my 40 years as a police officer and relied on them several times to save my life and they all did the job. If you have no problems with price I'd buy one from Smiths Custom Shop. If you just want a cheap to shoot but quality firearm then a Smith 22 would be the pick. Don't let anyone talk you into the large bore guns, 41 and 44's are tough to control and most difficult to shoot accurately, There were times when I left the range with bleeding hands after as little as 100 rounds from my 44, plus cost of ammo for these monsters is out of site. I'm kind of weird in my old age, I keep a 15 shot 40 by my bed, just due to the number of rounds, but when I go out on the street at night I'm packing my Kimber 45 it's a little big and only holds 8 rounds but I hit where I aim and nothing can stand up to the punch of that big 45 hollow point. Off centered or crooked tee boxes, number one without a doubt. If your a course designer and the only thing you can come up with is to off set the Tee boxes then go get a job at Wal-mart.
