  1. I am lucky to have several executive courses near my home here in Sarasota, Florida. I can play at one for ten bucks after 2:30 p.m. that offers 27 holes, and the other just a couple of dollars more--it has 18 holes. I use my own push cart too and I like the walking. During the winter/tourist season here, the regular golf courses really scalp you on greens fees, but by playing late in the afternoon, you get a substantial break, compared to earlier in the day. But come the middle of April, the fees drop down to summer levels, and we full-time residents can again play the regular courses pretty cheaply. But I can't really complain, because today, December 20th, I played in shorts and golf sandals. it was sunny and the temperature was in the high 70s. I also played yesterday, and it was 81 degres. I am going to play again tomorrow, too.
  2. It always seemed odd that Tiger would be pushing Buicks, anyway. Buick is by far more of an old man's car than a young man's. Here in South Florida, you see a LOT of Buicks, and 98% of them are being driven by elderly people. Tiger is more appealing to the younger set, I think, and he would be more of a natural to be endorsing sportier type cars. Buick is a fine car, but just does not have the appeal for the younger crowd. I am surprised Tiger lasted nine years. I would also imagine that GM's financial woes have a lot to do with it too, and I suspect Buick is going to drastically change its marketing strategy to focus on the market it seems to already have, namely, the older crowd.
  3. If John would give up the booze, cigarettes, the worthless, trashy women, and get rid of that giant beer gut, and concentrate full time on his golf game, he might actually go somewhere with his career. But the older he gets, the less likely that will ever happen. I have basically given up on him. But I sure wish he would get his act/life together. He could be an incredible pro if he would. The fact that his golf game does so well despite the other garbage in his life only hints at what he could be if he got focused on golf.
  4. I alternate between some Nike golf shoes and FootJoy golf sandals with spikes. But I have found that most of the time a good pair of walking shoes with a lug sole do just as well. Many of them come with a Gore-Tex liner and will keep your feet just as dry as any golf shoe, as most golf shoes have the same type of goretex liner.
  5. No, they are NOT illegal according to the USGA Rules of Golf. But they must have only one hitting surface and a round, not a putter grip. Those dual L/R jobs you see at the golf shops ARE illegal. You can hit a dual sided putter, but the putter is the ONLY club that can be ambidexturous.
  6. What I REALLY hate is when someone starts a legitimate thread on a specific subject, but some poop brain goes off on a tangent and original subject of the thread gets derailed. Then the next dozen posts have absolutely nothing to do with the original question/subject. That really irks me.
