  1. Hey everyone, I can happily say I've come a long way since I picked up the game again this summer! But now I could use some help from the more experienced players here. Here's my story: I hit a first plateau after a month of hard work, where I finally dialed in my meager distances with my irons and developed some consistency. Granted, I was bending my left arm severely, (thus robbing myself of a big arc), I wasn't making a full shoulder turn (not coiling up for fear of whiffing), and I wasn't shifting my lower body weight properly to initiate my downswing (ie. starting the downswing with my hands and arms), so my club-head speed was slow. But, I did have some success with my Super Game Improving Irons doing the work for me. After a month, I was comfortable with and able to repeat this busted ass swing enough to make things happen on the course, have fun with friends, and not be (that) embarrassed. Well, I've now gained insight into my previous swing flaws and remedied them with a straighter left arm, fuller turn, and lower body move to start the downswing. So, my 8 iron used to be my 135yard club and now it's rolling out to 150yards! I haven't developed consistency with my new, upgraded swing yet, because of a nasty chunking thing I'm doing. My buddy calls it the "honeymoon" move. He says my hips are doing something funny, thrusting forward and whatnot. Can anyone tell me more about the honeymoon move and how to fix it? I'd appreciate it! Thanks
  2. Well Guys, I'm 27 and 2 months into my golf "career"...it hurts when I take a deep breath. Left side of the middle of my back; I'm sure it's a rib thing. Nothing has popped and it's not what I would call a serious pain, but I know something is wrong as it hasn't gone away in the 2-3 weeks it's been there. Should I see a chiropractor? munch on some leftover flexoril? heat/cold it? Rest? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Mercer

I'm up in Denton and a new golfer so play the TWU Pioneer Course because it's close by, but I really enjoy Lake Park, in Lewisville. They've got quality executive and 18 hole courses and the price is pretty cheap!
  4. Hey Everyone, After 11-12 years away from the game, I find that I've somehow caught the fever and the links are calling me back. I'll have my new clubs in a day or so. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited to go out and hit some balls, develop a consistent swing, and walk the local courses, but; my stroke was never that good in the first place, so. I want to consult the old interweb community and find out what you devoted (and tech savvy) golfers would do in my position. Should I head to the range or should I go grab a refresher lesson? Should I focus on the short iron swing, like when I learned all those years ago? Should I be spending $50 a half hour on a PGA pro who works at Dick's? I've watched enough youtube vids. to remember the fundamentals and I've hit some (nervous) balls at the stores proving that contact is possible. Well, what would you guys do in my position... if you could start all over again? Any help or comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Matt
  5. I can't imagine swinging a shaft-less light weight wii remote would negatively impact your golf swing. Mentally, they are two completely different things and I don't find it hard to treat it as such. Case in point: My Tiger 2010 handicap is scratch. My real handicap...
  6. That clip of his "drive" where he's saying "I hate this game....i hate this game" is pretty funny. I actually enjoyed watching that guy trying to do the camera engineer stuff. I always wondered exactly how it was done.
  7. Hey Everyone. Glad to find this forum after 11 years away from the game. I am a student at University of North Texas and serve in the Texas National Guard.
