  1. I've personally never broke anything but my friend had a nice incident last year. We were on the first hole which is a straight par 4 with houses down the left side. Of course he is left handed and hit an extremely high 100 yard fade. We expected to hear the usual *THUD* of the ball hitting the roof of a house but were instead greeted with a nice shattering sound. I couldn't decide whether to laugh or cringe. Instead, we both just stood there with our mouths agape. He was carting and I was walking. As we made our way down the fairway we noticed the home owner on her hands and knees picking up glass off her deck. Apparently it didn't hit a window. It managed to utterly destroy her glass patio table. I still have no clue as to why you would own such a thing when living on a golf course. Since he was carting he decided to not even acknowledge her and drive past leaving me with my head down walking in the fairway acting like i'm tracking yardage on my phone. She didn't say one word to either of us. She just stood on her patio with her arms crossed staring into our souls with a disgusted look on her face. I wanted to apologize but didn't know how. Any attempt would either make me look guilty or require me to throw my friend under the bus. My friend is basically too much of an egotistical ******* to man up and apologize. This story simply ends with my friend never leaving the golf cart to play out the hole and me making a nice double bogey since I felt so shaken up by the whole situation. I'm not sure if she called the club house since we never heard anything about it after that moment. A year has passed since then and even though it wasn't my fault I still feel bad about it.
  2. The bottom line is that unless you can provide some form of validity to your statements, then you have no reason to even post in this thread. Without that, you might as well be arguing if dragons are scarier than zombies. Anyone can just talk and throw out opinions if there is no proof to your side of the argument. This thread should be a debate between intelligent adults. I personally do not smoke while on the course or before playing a round. To me it's the most beneficial post-round when you're feeling worn out and your back/legs are sore. There is no better remedy for back pain without a prescription for pain killers. The argument for the opposition of cannabis usually means you've never tried it (due to stereotypes or possible lack of availability). Do your homework and don't believe everything you hear. And if you're just trolling...well played.
  3. Please don't pursue this argument any further, meenman, until you at least watch that video.
  4. P.S. Here is some viewing material in case you feel like experiencing a different side to this argument. You know, something an intelligent person might do. Knowing the facts and fictions behind both sides to any argument is crucial. I recommend this film to anyone interested in the history and current political and economical status of marijuana. The Union: The Business Behind Getting High ( 2007 )
  5. Now i'm quite certain i'm dealing with a troll or a child. Either way arguing with you is a waste of time (especially on a golf forum). The fact that you're repeating yourself leads me to believe you've shown all your cards and feel like you're backed in a corner. I can't even debate with someone as ignorant as you. You probably don't even realize that weed was unknowingly banned because of the illegalization of hemp. There are no studies to back your "brain dead" claim. In fact there are studies proving that marijuana actually enhances brain cell growth and activity. I'm still waiting for you to post research undoubtedly proving your claims.
  6. Still not finding those facts huh? I believe in factual evidence and you have zero. But keep watching those propaganda filled commercials and repeating everything they say. It makes you feel good i'm sure. Not having the insight to realize lies or to do your own research and create your own opinions. That sounds like too much work right?
  7. I sincerely hope you're trolling. Otherwise this is one of the most ignorant statements I've read in quite some time. Perhaps you could post some scientific proof to back your claims? Good luck finding it. People like you are part of the problem. I hope you don't consider someone like Carl Sagan (famous astrophysicist who smoked weed every day) to be dumb considering you claim it kills brain cells. Don't worry, I used to be like you until I took it upon myself to actually research things before ignorantly stating "facts".
  8. I left my beer on the 5th tee box one time...worst day of my life
  9. I'm looking to buy new grips for my irons and I was wondering if anyone has used either of the grips I'm looking at. I would really like these to match my black/yellow Nike bag. 10. Shot a 79 today on a par 69 course. First time ever shooting under 80. Not bad for only playing for 4 months.
  11. Do you guys think he actually realized what missing that putt meant? I know most people don't want to know where they stand while they're playing.
  12. In case some of you guys missed it...here is the youtube video of it. Poor guy :(
  13. I love Jeffrey Tambor in that episode. When he hit it in the water a few times then decided to just throw the ball. At the end he got a course record of 55 (i think). Best part of the episode.
  14. Well I just played 9 holes and WOW. I've made a huge improvement in my drives (hit all 9 fairways). Today I mainly tried to focus on rolling my wrists over during my downswing to square the face up. I can't tell you how much of a difference it made. I also had to put the ball more in the middle of my stance and I'm teeing it a bit lower. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions (especially you Nickynoodles). I'm so glad there is a forum where people can get golf tips and everyone is so friendly and willing to help a complete stranger. I love this forum. Thanks again everyone!!!
  15. Thanks for all the help so far everyone. I stopped at the driving range today after work with no luck yet. I'm going to write down all these suggestions and really go after it tomorrow. Thanks again.
