  1. Nicely done, Jimbo. Your Avatar is great! Next time anybody claims driving 300+, all we need to do is to check his face on video to see if that frame to frame angle through the hit zone is greater than 56 degrees. Or, that hit zone triangle is approaching equalaterial!!
  2. I say the OP has more "class" than Darksun22... 1. OP started his own thread instead of Darksun22 hijacking OP's thread. 2. OP posted good lighting swing videos outside with down the line views and face on views. Where is Darksun22's face on view swing videos?? 3. Sim is just not the real thing! Period! 4. A less than $100 camera will do good on filming down the line view and face on view swings and Darkson22 is not doing that!! 5. How the hell is the Sim handle all the different lies, grass, peripheral vision, sun directions etc. conditions?
  3. Any one who claim to drive over 300 yrds have to qualify their post with their swing videos! Otherwise, their post will be deleted !
  4. I think Iacas made a mistake in getting the radius of the circle earlier! Its 67" instead of 57"......(43+26-2). So the swing speed should be ~96*(67/57) = 112.
  5. You always play to your handicap over a long period! Just remember most people will have more bad days than good days in golf as they always think of doing better than their average.
  6. I don't think the proposed is going to work. In the game of golf, there was never a time element involved. I think its about time to introduce that, either in penalty strokes for exceeding a time limit or bonus for fast play. I have work for more than 7 years as a marshal on a public county course. What usually happened is that by about the 7 th group out from the morning, the course speed is already down to the average of 5hrs round. The first groups are usually fast regulars and we have to slow them down with more players so that we can get more groups out on the back 9! Long players are not necessary faster players. Moving the Ts up on certain days actually slowed the play, because they (including the not so long players) all think they can reach the Green in sight in 2 from 280 yds while their drive is barely 230 yds off the tee. We have a directional marker post on the 1st hole (510 yds long) at 250 yds from the White. May be 95% of the people are 20-30 yds short of the flag either from the white or the blue (which is 280 yds to the marker). And they just stand there waiting for the Green and holding up the next group. Short players are not that great either, they all think that they can drive 250 yds and not hit their drive when they see the group in front at the directional marker. I found ladies are usually fast playing groups as they don't drive that far and are usually on the fairway and not in the next hole's fairway or the tall grass. So they don't spend time on finding their balls and usually pretty fast on the Green as most of them do not gamble. I think it probably would work if we set a time limit on the first two hours of group starts on the day. i.e. to have T times on the first two hours of the day, you have to finish in 4 hrs/4 hrs 15 minutes. If you don't finish the first 9 holes in 2 hrs. The marshal will move you up to the 10T/11T accordingly.
  7. Not exactly like that! My thought and action is try to rotate my head on the vertical axis of my left eye and bring my right ear around down towards the ball and rest on my right shoulder as it rotates through. Reverse pivot is usually due to movement of the tail bone to your right on your back swing.
  8. I don't see the analogy of shoe size fitting either. You yourself knows whether the shoe fits or not. But, its the club fitter who tells you the club they sell you fits you!! I have started a thread in the Golf talk section about whether club fitting only fits your current swing, good or bad. It may actually reenforce a bad swing.
  9. Most people fail to understand one thing about keeping their head still and swing faster! If you look at down the line view of pro swings at impact carefully, you will notice in order to keep their head in the relative same position in relation to the ball, the distance from the head to right hip and right shoulder to right hip is shorter than at address. This is to keep the spine angle position relatively the same relative to the ball. i.e. at address, your spine is leaning forward in relation to your tail bone, but just at/after the impact, your spine is leaning to your right in relation to your tail bone. So the swing motion involves the rocking of your head and shoulder left (back swing) and right (down swing) along your body plane in addition of the hip and body horizontal rotation. So, to swing faster you have to increase your speed of compression of your right side (i.e. shorten the distance of your head, shoulder to you hip). Most people just say, drop the club faster and keep the head still.

    Chicken or the Egg

Isn't it true then, if I already can hit consistently with my current clubs that I should be fitted with same spec.? Most people will start with stock clubs and learned from there, good or bad, worked hard to fit into the clubs. A new club fitting will change the game. A relearning process!
  11. Assuming that most people find it easier to hit consistently with shorter length clubs, then the same length club with lower loft approach will give the player a longer distance range of consistency or maybe more accurate hits.
  12. Not exactly a drill. Imagine there is a ball waist high to your right (assuming you are right handed) inline with your foot line. Try to hit this imaginary ball and your real ball on your down swing.
  13. I do not know whether this has been discussed before or not. How do you know that you are not fitted for your bad swings and reinforce it with your fitted clubs?
  14. You need a rangefinder with pinseek technology to better get the pin location and filter out the background. I have both a rangefinder and a GPS. Rangefinder will help you a lot if you want to improve your short game, i.e. 100 yards in where most GPS with only front, center and back start having a much much bigger error. Get a cheap GPS for your shot to shot distance measurement, and long distances to the green and hazards or from the next fairway! But also do get a good rangefinder with pinseek technology.
  15. Its a mind game all right! I have a conjecture after working on this for quite some time.... It has to do with our mind association of the club head in relation with the golf ball. When the ball is not there, our mind will pay attention to the hand and shaft relationship and maintain it through out the swing. As soon as the ball is there, our mind start to associate the club head with the ball and when we swing, we will try to get the club head to the ball and stalled the hand at impact causing the flip. This has work for me to train my brain and it may help you too: ... During your down swing, try to move your attention to your hands and swing your hands pass the ball while maintaining your wrist cock. A little chipping drill will help you to get the feel.... Set up as usual, cock your wrist before you start your backswing, while maintaining the wrist cock swing your hands forward pass the ball. During the whole swing, make sure your mind,s attention is on swinging your hands pass the ball and not on thinking about the club head. You will be surprised how well you can hit the ball.
