  1. Check out this book: http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...TEGORY_ID=3399 I'm about a third of the way through it and it's already helping me quite a bit.
  2. I'm with you, I need to manage my tee shots better as well. There have been far too many times I've hit driver and hit it pretty well, but it just goes a bit right or left and sometimes even right through the turn on a dogleg. This year I'll be hitting 3W and hybrid a lot more off the tee. Last season I stopped trying to go for the green in two on every par five and it made a huge difference in my par 5 scores. Keep it in the fairway!
  3. I've got my dream bag for the most part as well. Right now the only thing I would probably change is driver: 907D2 Oh, and I'd like to get my irons refinished/repainted which I'm going to do as soon as I can part with them for three week or so (not sure when that's going to be...). Edited to add: If we're talking dreams here, go ahead and put one of those caddychicks I keep seeing adds for on my bag as well.
  4. I use one in my backyard. I used to use real balls and hit full shots into it until one day I topped a 3W and the ball went under the net, kicked off a cinderblock mow strip straight up in the air, and landed who knows where... No broken windows in the neighborhood so I think I'm good. I decided that day to stick with wiffle balls and wedges into the net so I don't have to chase them very far. Oh, and if you like your grass, better get a mat.

Yeah, UNR could have won the game, but they were just overpowered by Memphis. They're a good team and should give A&M; some fits. It was at Wildcreek. I couldn't believe it either, but I'll bet it happens more often than you'd think. Wildcreek is a fun little course, but among my complaints about it is a lack of any marshal presence at all. There is a pretty decent membership deal, so it seems like most of the people that play there know each other and are fairly decent golfers. A marshal is not necessary most of the time, but I do think they should have someone out there making sure everything is moving along without problems.

A buddy and I went out on Friday afternoon after watching some March Madness games. 80 degrees outside, Nevada won in OT, and we got paired up with a couple of really cool older gentlemen. We were having a few beers, everyone was relaxed and shooting well, you couldn't have asked for a better time. Anyway, we just got done with a hole and I hopped in the cart to pull around the green to the next tee box. As I pull around, I looked out to the fairway and two guys are full on fighting in the middle of the fairway. I didn't even think about it and drove straight to them, yelling to stop. They did stop and told me they were just playing around, but it was clear that it was a fight. One kid was getting pummeled and had a bloody nose. After they stopped I let loose on them verbally, told them, among other things, to get golfing or get off the course. There were three of them and when I started to drive away the one that wasn't fighting started talking tough to me! These guys were around 18 or 19 and would have just gotten destroyed if a brawl ensued. More words were exchanged, but they finally moved on. The rest of the round as we passed each other they would stare and they even flipped the bird at us a couple times. I was pretty hot, but kept a cool head and didn't say anything more. The older guys called the pro and told him what happened and he said he would get out as soon as possible. It definitely put a damper on an amazing day, but I got over it and we still ended up having a great time. The best thing about this story is how it ended up. These idiots must have realized they messed up and they ended the day a few holes early. When we were on 18 the pro finally made it out and we told him the details. He apologized and said he was sorry he couldn't get out earlier to handle it. As we were talking to the pro these kids start driving back out and were heading straight for us! They stopped and asked if we had seen a phone they lost out there! I couldn't believe it and I told the pro that these are the kids who were fighting. He basically couldn't do much, told them to find another course in the future, but we all took the opportunity to tell them about how stupid they were, and that if they don't cool it, someday they are going to mouth off to someone who won't show the restraint we did and get hurt. Anyway, quite the experience, hopefully one that I won't have to relieve anytime soon and it makes a funny story.
  7. It's looking like taking my three iron out of the bag, replacing my 18* hybrid with a 20* and adding three Vokey wedges (52, 56, 60) is going to be the best purchases I have made for my game. Far too often I found myself with a distance gap between my PW and my old 54*, the three iron was collecting dust and I hit my old hybrid almost as far as my 3 wood. After a couple rounds with my new setup things have been going pretty well. Now if I could just get the ol' putter to cooperate, I might be in low 80's country!
  8. Whenever I look at shoes, these ladies ones always catch my eye. No idea if they are comfortable or not, but they look cool. 35 bucks! http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...TEGORY_ID=4294
  9. I just purchased an Adams Idea A2 last night. I hit the A2, the Idea Pro, and a Cleveland HiBore on a launch monitor. The Idea Pro is a very nice club, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Although it felt awesome just taking practice swings with it, when I started hitting balls everything was really low and it felt kind of dead to me as well. I must not have the swing speed for it. The HiBore is awesome. Impact was the best of all three, but I hate the look of it and mostly I was worried that at 22* for the 3i, it would leave too much of a distance gap between my 3 wood and 4 iron. I hit the Idea A2 great, low, but not too low. I like the look of it the best of all three, I think I can maybe even shape a shot or two and it was discounted at only a hundred bones. Sold. I figure if I end up not liking it all that much I can upgrade without taking a huge hit to the wallet.
  10. I thought one of the selling points of the Idea Pro is the stock Aldila VS Proto 80x shaft? That's what they advertise and that's what one sales guy told me when I went in to hit one, not that that means anything, but still. Anyone know how the Idea Pro compares to the Idea a2? I like the look of the a2 better than the Pro (something about that yellow...) and for a hundred bucks less, seems like a great deal. This is kind of scary from the a2 OS review on this site, " The only problem I have with the appearance is that the color on the back of the club is already nicked. I really haven't overused it and I see markings wearing off the champagne portion. This disturbs me because, for a brand new club, it's starting to look old quickly. " Have you had and issues with this, Jorruss?
  11. Yeah, I've been lurking for a week or so and just registered yesterday. Love the forum so far, I'm sure I'll be wasting plenty of company time now around here. I've never been to Golden Golf, but will check it out soon, thanks! I've only bought a couple things from RTGH, but it's nice to go there and take whacks at all the stuff they have just to check it out, you know?
  12. Awesome. My Eye2+s are my first set of decent irons and I love them. I've been tempted to "upgrade" to something more modern here and there, but I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it. I don't know how they're made or what exactly they're made of, but these things were built to last. They still look and play new.
  13. I know what you mean about the sales people. These guys are pretty laid back and will help you if you ask. They've never been pushy with me in the past, but few did seem a bit biased towards certain brands (Cleveland HiBore). At the very least if you go there when it's not that busy you can hit a bunch of clubs and read the simulator results yourself.
  14. Yeah, I do like a 60 degree wedge as well. I've been using some older Cobras (54 and 60 degree), but since I'm taking the three iron out and adding a gap wedge I thought I'd treat myself all the way around with Vokeys.
  15. Just ordered a Titleist Vokey 200 Series 252.08 and Vokey Spin Milled SM56.10, SM60.04. Can not wait until they arrive!
