I've never been able to enjoy them much, although while in Costa Rica I bought some authentic Cubans to see if they were something I'd like. No luck, though. They just don't do it for me.

cuban quality has diminished. A good fuente is worth its weight. Opus X, short stories, works of art, I love em all...

There are still plenty of really good CC's.

I'm partial to the Partagas and Trinidad offerings.

On the course, I smoke Rocky Patel Vintage, Partagas Series S (or Black), and I'm too weak willed to leave a Hemingway sitting in my humi when there's golf to be had. I've been on a bit of a Nicaraguan kick here lately: my current NC favorite right now, is the San Cristobal; that is one FINE smoke, followed closely by the Tatuaje brown label.

I use a Cigar Minder (the clippy one). It works perfectly, and does two things for me at once. Since it's so flippin' hot here, I keep a wet towel on the cart, folded over the windshield that's flipped down, and I use my clippy to hold my towel, and the cigar when needed. On the tee box, I carry my stogie with me, and set it on the ground when it's time to hit, for putting, I'll just leave it in my mouth sometimes. I learned a lesson about dropping them, they'll crack the binder, and then not smoke worth a darn if you do it too much.

Hey guys, i actually enjoy cigars too, but have been searching for some light ones that don't cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

also, how bad are stogies compared to cigarettes? i actually smoke cigs while golfing cuz it calms my nerves. I would assume cigars should be a little better for u since u aren't inhaleing. That said, i know the nicotine conentration in cigars must be super potent.

For one thing, you don't inhale cigar smoke.. You sip it into your mouth and enjoy it for a second before you blow it out.

I'll tell you this.. I have mild asthema and I smoke about 6 cigars a year. I can't even be in the same room with a lit cigarette without weezing, so there is certainly a difference between cigs and stogies.

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

Look into the Cusano 18, and the Helix. Both very light, both very decent. I used to smoke them both quite a bit when I was in the mood for a light cigar.

Also - ask the person at your local cigar shop to advise you for any others.

Each time we start chatting about cigars, we seem to get more and more off topic, so I figured I would just start a thread about the wonderful world of cigars. What is everyone smoking these days? Anybody aging stuff right now?
In my humi, I mainly have Rocky Patel's Vintage, Graycliffs, and Oliva Series V's. Those are the aging cigars, along with a couple each of the usual suspects such as Opus, Anejo, Pepins, etc...
For everyday smoking, I am really stuck on RP Edge Lights, and a couple of other things that are a little less expensive such as Cohiba Red dots, CAO Blacks, etc...
What is everyone else smoking right now? Anybody also aging stuff?

I used to smoke Swisher Sweets with the wood tips, but I dont smoke anymore. I used to think it was cool, but now I see it as nothing more than a disgusting, filthy, unhealthy habit.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

Thanks for sharing your opinion. If you dont have anything to contribute to a topic, other than putting down people, why write anything at all?

My go-to smoke is a Partagas Series S, Preferido. Like I mentioned before, I've been on a Nicaraguan kick fot the last several months though, and haven't gotten enough of the Pepin cigars.

Right now I've got some La Aurora's, Dunhill, Trinidad, Partagas, Cohiba, San Cristobal, CAO, Rocky Patel, Jesus Fuego, Padron, Tatuaje and I suspect a few others

Here's a question:

I know you have a wine cellar to help maintain humidity, but what did you do before that? It seems like the Florida humidity would present a hell of a challenge trying to keep it stable.

I've gone to 65% RH beads, and my humi holds steady at 64-66%. I had a lot more swing with gel and PG solution.

Not putting anyone down, just sharing my experiences and my opinion. If it came across as me putting you down, I aplogize.

No problems. You seem like a good egg.

With the cigars, I have used the beads for years. Always keep it at 65%. I have a couple coming your way, (graycliff and pepin) and a few others that you will really like. But the humidity has never been an issue in a humi with beads. Now wine on the other hand, until I had the room put in, it was an issue.

Thanks. I can be stubborn and opinionated at times though.
