I called the course this morning to see if someone had returned it, seems I wasn't the only one that got taken. Several guys had their putters taken, and a few wedges were stolen as well. I'm now convinced it is a worker at the course that is responsible, someone who could grab an item here and there and have a place to stash it until later. Unfortunately I didnt engrave my name on my rangefinder, it was on there with permament marker, which we all know isnt permament if you want it off. But some of the guys whose putters were stolen has the serial #s written down, so hopefully the guy gets caught trying to sell the stuff. I hope he gets caught, arrested and molested by 5 guys with life sentences who employ the use of razor studded condoms......
Next time they give you all that civic bullshit about voting, keep in mind that Hitler was elected in a full, free democratic election- George Carlin

Stolen GPS by a squirrel

Those squirrels at Myrtle Beach can be BOLD! We were playing Kings North and as I was walking from the green to the cart I saw a squirrel sitting on the dashboard eating my crackers. I picked up a pine cone and from about 30 yards threw it in the direction of the cart, I was just trying to hit the cart to scare the squirrel. As luck would have it, I ended up nailing the squirrel right on the noggin with the pine cone. Needless to say he scooted up the nearest tree, he appeared unharmed, but I still felt bad about bonking him on the bean. For the rest of the round, I was looking over my shoulder thinking he was gonna round up a squirrel posse and attack me. Now you have me wondering if maybe I knocked a screw loose and that same squirrel has turned to a life of crime pawning rangefinders.... my bad. I don't know what the golf course could do about thieving squirrels. I'm glad golf guru stepped up and fixed the thing for you though.

At my home it isn't actually much of a problem because very few players have to leave their clubs unattended. The snack bar is a window off the side of the golf shop. You have to walk right by it going from the 9th green to the 10th tee, so you put your clubs down right there, or park the cart right in front. On the rare occasion that I need to use the rest room, I either have my buddy keep an eye on our stuff, or I put my electronic gear in my pocket. Where I park also is in clear view of the starter, so it's an unlikely target area for a thief. There are always a lot of people hanging around the area, so it would be fairly difficult for a thief to do something like that and not be seen.

The only real theft I've ever heard about at this course happened about 10-12 years ago, and that time the thief broke out the back window of a friend's Bronco and took his entire bag while he was upstairs in the restaurant after his round. It happened later in the evening, near dusk, when the parking lot was mostly deserted.
