Hi all, i have an old MD Golf 58deg wedge that is approx 6deg of bounce.

I would like to experiment with a higher bounce to suit my steep angle of attack swing, something around 12degrees i think.

I've got a bench grinder so i fancy a dabble! How would i go about it?

I presume i would need to take a few mm off the bottom leading edge, ie underneath the bottom groove on the club face.

What do you think?

Grinding the sole will reduce the bounce, not add to it...

You could try bending the club. For every degree you add to the loft of the face, you will increase the bounce by an equal amount. Or, buy a new/used sand wedge with more bounce.

I thought if i took a bit off the leading edge only, it would add a few degrees?

I really wouldn't try that, you could do some serious damage to the face.

You might end up blading/thinning the ball. You might also move the sweet spot also so I don't know if it's worth the effort. If you are going to try however, please do share with us how it works out. I'm very curious.
