thinking about buying tickets for 2010 since it's only about 3.5 hours from the house. Can anyone say if it's a good spectator event? Easy to get around, hotels, park, etc.? Know it'll be crowded. Never been to a pro event and just wondered what to expect if we go to Quail Hollow.

I have been to Quail Hollow twice and have always had a great time. The course is very walkable and has great points to watch the players both on the course and the practice range. In general, the event is very well respected on the tour and usually attracts one of the best non-major fields of the year.

I live in Charlotte and can't really comment on the hotels, but the easiest thing to do for parking is to park in a lot near a designated shuttle bus location either uptown, in South Park by the Mall, or out by Carowinds. These buses usually run every 20-30 minutes and drop you off right across from the entrance of the course. I usually have someone drop me off near by and I walk the rest of the way because there isn't anywhere close to park. I've heard that some of the hotels down in Ballantyne have shuttles that will take you to the course as well, but I can't really confirm that. Hopefully, I will be able to go to the pro-am and at least a couple days of the tournament this year. This is the first year I'm taking my 3 year old for the pro-am day, so it should be fun. Hope that helps!
