Being the adventurous type I decided to build my new putter to replace the one I have had for 10yrs. I decided to go with a heavy mallet style and oversized grip.

The head is a Weszty M1 400gram stainless steel. I liked the fact that its S/S for longevity and the two lines for lining up the puts, plus the extra weight.

I was at a golf shop that had a large selection of putter grips. I felt every grip they had, the Tiger Shark grip just had the right texture/feel/tackiness and size that fit my hands. Surprised because I was leaning toward the Winn Excel but just liked the tiger shark better

Connected it with a Apollo double bend shaft.

Been wacking balls on the carpet and really liking it thus far.

I have about $50 into it, now I need a mallet putter head cover!

He didn't make the putter head. He bought it.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Oh.

Doesn't seem so amazing now.

But, still nice, of course.

LOL.  At least he should have vulcanized the rubber for the grip.

    • I don't follow the LIV tour so for starters somebody would have to tell me that they are coming. Even if tickets were free I probably wouldn't go. I'm just not interested.  I've been to a fair amount of PGA Tour Tournaments in my life. I've even attended two US Opens... One men's, and one women's. I've been to college and high school tournaments as well.  I'd actually be more interested in attending a Korn Ferry Tournament or an Epson Tour Tournament. Which reminds me the Nationwide Chlidren's Hospital Championship in September is right down the street. I should get tickets.
    • LIV golf was pretty close to me in 2023, at the same course that hosted the 2023 Senior PGA.  I didn't go to either one.  I do know a few people who went to the LIV event, and they said it was pretty well attended and pretty well run.  If I had free tickets, I might show up, but I'd probably have to drive 10 miles to park to get a shuttle to come back to within 5 miles of my house.
    • As long as "in town" means a drive of less than an hour, I'd probably go.  I've never actually been to a pro golf event, so it would be a novelty. Presumably, they'd be playing on a course that I'm not normally allowed to visit, so there would be an interest in just going to see the place. My tolerance for traffic is pretty minimal, so if massive headaches are predicted it would dampen my enthusiasm.
    • I would definitely buy tickets and go watch a round or two.
