I've been Playing Golf for: Around 5 years on and off.

My current handicap index or average score is: 13,3

My typical ball flight is: Straight pull

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: any pull shot

Hi there! Well i filmed my swing as usual in Sweden(explains my english) yesterday but im still struggeling with coming a bit outside to in it seems. For me it seems my swing is pretty good on the plane until on the downswing and im suspecting it depends on my strong hip/leg turn. Also it feels like my hands is not coming in at the same spot as at adress. Do you guys agree with me, and do you have any other suggestions on things to improve on? Please be critical!

Making progress?

This is from the range today trying to apply stack and tilt teqnique. I think it looks better, however had so many swing thoughts today so it was hard to swing natural.

I think that swing looks pretty good. Maybe some posture corrections, but I dont even know about that.

I might have only noticed this because it's something I've been working on recently.  I think you should have a bit of a steeper shoulder turn.  To achieve this you can experiment with side tilting to the left a bit more (but watch out--you don't want to dip your head).  It's hard for me to tell in this photo but you might also want to get your hips tilted more as well, by feeling that the right hip is higher than the left.  Getting the right leg a bit straighter by the top of the backswing will help with this.

thanks, right now im working on the hip motion, keeping head at same spot, keeping my right knee pretty straight at impact, not strengthening my grip to much so a lot to going on in my head while swinging atm but gonna keep in mind to analyze my posture later. Also my posture may look a bit weird because of me tilting so much at starting position, It's just a drill I use now to get into better position at impact which I will get rid off later.

I will definitly try to change this especially straightening the right leg at that position, it's weird how you can get blind when analyzing missing the obvious flaws :p

Just to clarify, you want your right knee to straighten on the backswing, but gradually return it to its flexed position by impact.

Okay I think I get it, flexed but not pushed out at impact like the left knee is on the top of the backswing right?

Yes, that is the general idea.

This week I will participate in two competitions so I hope my training pays off.

Now im gonna watch greenbrier classic =) peace out

Most of my shots were very solid today so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I just don't like the look of my swing. Any tips what to work on next?

Yesterday I was confused why my swing looked so uggly so I went to youtube to find advice. Finally my swing looks like something I like and my shots were fantastic today with all clubs.

Things I can see to work on from the video, hands more away from body at setup, clubface more open at top, steeper shaft lean at the top and fix the early release of my hips.

New swing thoughts.

  • Ball position more away from body.
  • Little bit more athletic position at setup.
  • Left shoulder start swing, no legs or wrists.
  • Steeper path from when the wrists break in backswing.
  • Steeper clubshaft angle at the top aiming at the ball or closer.
  • Right leg much more straight on downswing, starting the swing with lateral hip movement with the left knee moving towards the target.(Priority 1)
  • More wrist follow through after impact.

Had a struggle with legwork today at range, still don't get how to rotate and move my hips, time to go youtube again =).

Here's frontview of today:

First video I think your setup is a little too upright.  The second video is closer, but you slouch a little bit in the last videos.  I've never been that good at analyzing swings, but thats what I noticed with your setup.

Im aware of that but thank you, I will work on it next range session.

    • Day 329 - More full swings, focusing on the finish. Started with half swings, finished with full swings.
    • Day 146: mirror work again. Working on the same backswing stuff.
    • Didn’t get back to a decent routine in November and December as planned.  I really need to get up earlier and get to the 7 am CrossFit class… but I’m too tired. Right now getting in 3 times a week. Going to get some swing speed exercises in too.  January-April should be Monday - Friday, load up on supplements too.
    • “The stuff legends are made of…” 😁 As long as OEM’s keep replacing them…. But if it cracks 2 years in, you’re screwed on the warranty. the Cobra Dark Speed driver gets rave reviews.  Haven’t heard of breakage issues.  Taylormade now came out with the Qi35 heads.  Absolutely stunning but it’s a carbon fiber sole as well as the face and crown.  I guess we’ll see.
    • Day 71 - 2024-12-10 I spent three minutes trying to figure out when someone started calling me Yoda, even though he remains the only person to call me Yoda… then in a hotel room, I spent ten minutes while watching the 2019 Masters on YouTube (the TV doesn't have Golf Channel) working on my wrist conditions.
