Hi All,

I want to thank you for taking the time to read my post and offer any assistance you may have. I do not not have issues with distance but I do have an issue with control. My irons and woods go straight, but my misses are pulls AND pushes (about 70/30 respectively). My driver is ALWAYS a big pull (but straight). When I watch my swing on high speed, I do not see any obvious issues (although I am sure there are tons) except with my driver. I always hit "down" with my driver. For some reason I cannot get my hands to stop from freewheeling away from me, bringing the low point in my swing to outside my lead foot.

I have a video of my SW and Driver Caddie view. It is without a ball, but it is all I have on this PC. Any advice or criticism welcome as long as it is constructive.

I see multiple problems.
1.On your first shot, which looks like a fairway woods, your hands are already in front of the club at address. BAD
2. At first i thought you were rewinding the video to show us the top of your swing, but I don't think that is the case. If you stop at the top of your swing and do those "stutter swings", your rhythm is most likely going to be off and it could change the club face angle etc. The only person I have seen do anything like this is Charles Barkley, but I doubt he has a 12 handicap like you so you are doing better than he is haha.
3. On the driver, it looked like you turned your head back away from the ball. DON'T DO THAT.

Try looking at this Golf Pro's youtube channels. He has some great advice.

Also, just in case you haven't seen a video. Here is Charles Barkely doing what he does not do best.

Thank you for the input AggieGolfer13. I really appreciate it. I was trying to get maximum feel out of my swing. I will post a better video of me in my "real" swing. It will be without a ball though (for now). I was able to strike something yesterday. It appears the right elbow and an aggressive pivot is the culprit in my swing. I am still working on it and will keep you posted.

If anyone else has any suggestions please chime in!

Those aren't even practice swings with no ball, those are swing drills you're video taping. I guarantee that your real swing looks nothing like this (well, assuming it's a drill, if you've got the Barkley thing going at the top of the swing you need a psychologist, not some tips on a forum!).

Look at the thread about how to post your swing.  You'll get zero input from the people on this forum you really want input from posting videos of yourself doing drills or practice swings with no ball.  It can be a practice ball or a real ball hit into a net.  You just have to actually be hitting something, as that changes your swing more than you think.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
