How much can a lie angle adjustments affect shots?

i got my irons a long time ago and the fitter set them up +1/2 length and 2* flat. since i've been getting a better stroke i hit a slight draw with my driver, 3 wood, and hybrid the majority of the time. balls going to the right are either a high-cut with my driver, low stinger with <5 yard fade with my 3 wood or hybrid, or maybe an absolute block in the rare occasion (still more left than right).

my irons however have fades almost constantly. 5-10 yards and they start out straight, but always seem to taper right. it feels like great contact, divot in front of the ball (i can't tell direction because the driving range is basically potting soil), but still right. i have to severely overcorrect with the face to get even a straight flight.

it never occured to me until i read something about cheating lie angles up to help slicing that my irons might not be fit properly. i am 6'3" and a large individual, and i can't remember why the guy said my irons should be flat, but i don't have the same swing now that i did then.

can i get refitted for my irons? what kind of place does this and is it worth it, or is lie angle overrated?

i always assumed that i just was cutting down my slice, but when i got fitted for a driver properly it made a world of difference for me and turned one of my most inconsistent clubs into one of my most consistent. i'm wondering if a proper iron fitting would do the same.

i don't want to buy another set of irons until i'm ready for the switch to something more along the lines of blades, so hopefully there is a way to just get mine adjusted again.

My ball is anything on sale

I am 6'4" and use plus three wedges. This results in a lie angle of 6 degrees flat. You can easily tell if your lie angle is wrong by masking taping the club and making several strikes on a board. If the strike marks are centered then no adjustment is required.  My 1963 Hogan IPT extended to plus 3 results in strike markes right at the hosel. Obviously these irons need bending flat.

If you are striking the irons in the center between the score line ends  then look elsewhere for your ball flight cause. Like a slightly out to in swing path
