I started golfing again after more than a decade away from the game. I was never good then, but I've put a lot of work in this summer and I'm getting to the point where I can play between bogie & double bogie. For me that's about 10-15 strokes better than I used to average.

I picked up a cheap set of Top Flight XL+ on ebay with regular flex shafts. Not sure exactly what my swing speed is, but I'm fairly confident it's somewhere north of 110. I say this because I have one of those Excel-A-Rater things you attach to the shaft that measures clubhead speed. I peg it at 110 with my driver and a straight, well hit shot travels about 290 yards.

So my question is, am I going to develop any bad habits sticking with these clubs for a year or two or should I seriously consider a different set with stiff shafts?

My plan was to stick with these clubs for a couple of years, and if I improve enough then I'll shop for a decent set of fitted clubs.

Your thoughts?

My SS is at 95.. and i constantly get told that I'm right between regular and stiff flex for my driver. Sounds like you're a stiff.
