Are Orbiter clubs any good for a beginner / someone looking to get back into the game? I last played about ten years ago - middle school - but was recently given a nice set of Orbiter clubs that are in new condition. They came in a nice Miller bag on a removable caddy. Oddly enough they seem to be about the right length for my 6' 3" frame. I've taken a few swings with them already and it's all coming back to me, though I have yet to see if I can still hit well. Grips are Lamkin and the shaft are black and say "True Ace Precision Series SE - Standard Weight - 3.5* Torque - Frequency Calibrated." Thinking about taking advantage of a local Par 3 course that's five bucks for nine holes or $100 / yr. membership. Thoughts?

I'm not familiar with Orbiter, but don't believe it is one of the major brands.  If you're thinking of getting back into golf I'd really suggest taking at least a few lessons.  Hopefully the pro giving the lessons can help advise you on how the clubs fit and how well suited they are for your game.  If they feel okay, my guess is that they are likely fine for getting started.  Once you have spent some time getting your game together you will be in a much better position to tell what sort of clubs you may want going forward.

So far as the par 3 course, I think that is excellent!  Anyone that can get around a par 3 okay has the hardest parts of the game covered.  Hitting a driver is sort of an art unto itself, but is something you can pick up easily enough, and that's the only piece of the puzzle you won't get to practice sufficiently on a short course.
