Anyways..

I'm in the market for a new grill. I love the Weber Summit series, but don't like the price (800-900)

Anyone know of any good alternatives?

I've had brands other than Weber before, and was NOT happy with them. Flame-up problems, uneven heating, etc.

Let me know.. thanks!

Jenn-Air, best grill I have ever owned. Not super expensive but not cheap either. All the other grills I have ever had ended up in the garbage, I doubt this one will anytime soon. I have had it for about 4 years now, that's when the others are falling apart.

I have a Weber charcoal grill and you can certainly taste the difference between charcoal and gas. Weber is awesome

The Weber "Genesis Silver B" was picked by Cooks Illustrated magazine as their Best Grill AND Best Value in a test about 3 years ago (the slightly larger "Silver A" came in second, but it was a hundred buck more if I recall).

Weber recently stopped making the "Genesis" series (including the even more expensive "Genesis Gold" line) but you might try calling around to large hardware outlet stores to see if they have any left in stock - they might even discount them to get 'em off their hands.

Replacing the economical Silver series is the Weber "Spirit E-310". About.com named it one of it's Top-10 Under $500 grills of 2007. You can see the entire list here or just read the review directly .

Good luck with whatever you end up getting. Grilling rocks!

Bag It:

Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.

I think a good one to go with is the Weber Genesis. It's a little cheaper than the summit, and a little bit smaller. Here is a site with a good weber e-310 gas grill review that you could take a look at. It has more than I know about it, but I own one, and I can tell you that it will last a long time and I recommend it.

good luck!

I recommend buying whatever you buy from a Sears store.
Their service is fantastic and a warranty is a warranty.
