  1. It may be a "gimmick" but you will see some double digit (+10) scores on that hole. It happens every year.
  2. I'm using standard Rifle Fighted 6.5s in some RAC MB TPs and they seem very good so far. My driver SS creeps into the 120s and the stiffness feels good.
  3. Solid field. Missing some South Africans and Tiger but very solid indeed.
  4. It's probably more important to have a putter fitted. Also, the AGSI+(TaylorMade) and C-Groove (Yes!) technologies DO help contribute to better ball roll.
  5. I think the only differences are the 1 degree open face, the extra weighting options and the shaft. The changes aren't as drastic as say the Cleveland Hibore XL and XL Tour.
  6. FOLLOW UP: So I have been practicing my address distance from the ball. That's where the problem was. I was set up too near to the ball. Some bad habit I picked up along the way. A good rule that I focus on now is keeping approximately 1 open hands length between the end of the grip and my body. Thanks guys, you nailed it.
  7. Where I find that a 3-wood is indispensible is on long par 5s. Sometimes with these 550+ holes you will need that club just to get close or on with the second shot. Also, on severely windy days I'll hit 3-wood rather than driver because my shot balloons less. Nevertheless, play what fits your game.
  8. Is this the Nike Sumo Sasquatch, or the first model? I have used the first model and it is pretty loud. Hit it clean and square and it sounds like murder. As far as the wood club thing. That doesn't sound normal to me.
  9. Also, there is a mental stigma with some of the longer tee boxes. When you walk onto a course and see "Championship," it gets in your head a little. I play better from closer tees because of higher confidence.
  10. I would personally keep playing these irons. Sure, there are "game improvement" irons out there that are easier to hit. But, I always believed that its better to work up than to work to a point and hit a wall. With some of these game improvement irons, that will happen. Moreover, some of these modern designs are actually not too hard to hit at all and are relatively forgiving. Simply put, you and your game will be much happier continuing to play these irons in the not so distant future.
  11. What was said about slope rating is very true. Play within your game. However, don't feel afraid to challenge yourself from time to time. This will only make you better. Here and there I'll tee it up from the black or further.
  12. I guess I play kind of slow. Right now I am working hard on a consistent tempo and pre-shot routine (which I say can take more than 30 seconds a shot). Also, I obviously play slow if I'm playing poorly. Regardless of your playing speed, let the group play through. P.S. I DO however get irked when people want to play through, yet I am being delayed myself by a slow group.
  13. So lately I have been having trouble making contact on the fat part of the driver face. I always get it towards the heel, unless I align the toe with the ball at address. Perhaps this is a plane issue. I don't do this with irons or even woods. Is there a good drill to remedy this?
  14. eBay! I picked up some brand new TM RAC MB TPs for about half the price of retail. The site has some fantastic deals that can't be ignored. For things like shoes, putters, clothing, etc., I buy in a retail store as to try before I buy.
  15. What I would like to see are some comparisons of the Callaway and TM against the Nike Sumo Sasquatch (non-square, similar to what Tiger uses). Regardless, I'm hearing a lot of excellent things about the TM Superquad. I've seen it in action and it appears to be the real deal that I may have to check out.
